First impressions of the babes in green slime

What are you first impressions of the babes that are tied up and cacooned in green slime?

The first time I saw a woman tied up in green tentacles in episode 2, I was little creeped out and disturbed at how much exposure and sexuality was in the game. First time I had ever see so much in a game. It made me think that the aliens had some "other" plans for the earth women since they were all naked or scantily clad. When I hear them moan "kill me", I figured out that it was a rip of Aliens with an adult theme. I wished that I could some way to free them and see them walk away to somewhere safe, but I grown to like seeing them be there.

I also thought that the strippers were really cool and added a lot of interaction and fun to the game.

There wasn't really a whole lot of interactivity with the slime-covered chicks. You could press SPACEBAR and hear them say "Kill Me" or shoot them, that was pretty much the only options apart from just standing there watching them.

I was a little freaked out the first few times, then I got bored because there wasn't much more I could do with them.

It would have been cool if they could have added a little more AI and interactivity with them.

Speaking of which, why doesn't someone come along and make a Duke level (with CONs of course) that provides a little more interactivity than usual, such as coding what an object (e.g. a chick) does for each type of action Duke does (i.e. jump, crouch, SPACEBAR, shotgun, pistol, kick, etc.)?

That shoulnd't be impossible in CON script i would think...

well my fisrt encounter with these ladies was on N64 so u actually rescued them then that disappear but i kind a thought that the alien's used them for "entertainment" like a tv except in a different manner

First Impression = YES! Something else which can be gibbed, squished, blown up, or otherwise destroyed. Duke's interactivity sure beat just about every other game at the time, especially coming from something like Doom where (excluding enemies) you could destroy barrels, and... well that was about it.

I got the Aliens reference immediately but was also impressed by this sad, beautiful creature communicating vocally with me. That was a first for me and any "first time" coupled with that kind of adult theme (as was her appearance), makes it a special thing for a guy. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It was also memorable because when I ended her misery, the Duke in me expressed regret. It was two-way NPC interaction, short and direct and I wish I'd seen a lot more of that.

I actually went through the art files and turned all of the trapped, slimed babes into normal babes by just getting rid of the slime.

I would always kill the trapped ones, but never the strippers. I thought it was stupid. Though I do wish you could rescue them like in the N64 one.

I think you guys think too much into a very old game ; ). But besides that the first time I saw this when I was six or seven, and thought it was pointless object in the game. Even back then I thought all right the aliens imprisioned the chicks to do like sexuall experiments...mabye figure out how the humans give birth, and create some kind of human-alien hybrid.
