Set in the 1930’s, BloodRayne introduces female agent BloodRayne. A supernatural union of human and vampire, BloodRayne was raised and trained by a secret governmental agency to hunt down and eliminate global evil forces. In her first game she must take on an occult faction of pre-Nazis and their army of ghouls to prevent them from unleashing creatures of unfathomable terror onto the world.

BloodRayne’s repertoire includes inhuman strength, spectacular leaping and acrobatic skills, night vision, zoom vision, and slow-motion perception that enables her to weave in and out of bullets, a la Max Payne. By feeding off the blood of other creatures, she is able to sustain her life force; however her undying thirst for blood compels her onward until she is driven into Bloodlust, where she achieves near invincibility and unstoppable lethality.

Powered by Terminal Reality’s new Infernal Engine, BloodRayne will deliver fast-paced, battle-heavy action from a third-person perspective, coupled with unique cinematic horror elements.

Max Payne is now part of the gaming vernacular. images/icons/smile.gif Are they gonna have to license bullet-time now? images/icons/wink.gif

Holy poop...it's info on that new Nocturne-related game! The protagonist was supposed to be Svetlana Lupescu, but it seems that the setting and style has remained.
BTW, you posted the selection twice.

Yep, I was wondering when this title will be officially announced. The engine sounds amazing. You'll be able to hide in the dark to avoid enemies --- and so can they.

Actually I believe you can do this in other games as well, some Doom-engine based games have this option as well I believe, it probably wouldn't be too hard to program:

If enemy is in area with 20% light, FOV (Field of View) is reduced by 70%.

Old Thief -games did that a long time ago.

Are you sure the enemies did that too - not just the player?

But then, I don't know how much that differs from AI that seeks cover (as seen in Half-Life and RtCW). Unless they can actually affect the lighting and take advantage of it. That is, turn off the lights and hide.

In Thief only you were able to hide in the dark. The added bonus of AI using the shadows as camoflauge is....damn suspenseful gameplay, that's for sure.
