I'm looking for artists, voice actors and talented city mappers for a Duke3D 1.4/1.5 TC (NOT eDuke) that takes place in a post-nuclear America. The TC is yet unannounced, but it definitely will be, as soon as I'll get a team to finish a demo.
What I'm looking for in:
1) Artists:
Must be able to paint city textures. Since this will be a dying world, most of the textures will deal with cracked walls, rusted cars and other gloomy stuff.
A 3d-modeller for human actors (and some inhuman, he he he) is very welcomed.
2) Mappers:
You guessed it - ruined cities will be your specialty. Hard job, but hey, are you up to the challenge, or are you gonna make same-old greenish alien bases all your life?
3) Voice actors:
Native American, fluently speaking, no 13yos please. Males and females are welcomed. Must be serious about their job, no jokes or making funny voice (the reason - TC has rather dark and serious story).

1) Well, eDuke is still a very buggy addition to Duke3D, and not everybody is able to install or play it.
2) People made TCs before eDuke. You can say I'm "old-school" images/icons/smile.gif
2) I can always port it to eDuke if I deem it necessary.

1) Buggy? It might be buggy for duke, but when you're changeing the game anyway, why not just fix the bugs?
2) Have you tried EDuke?
3) True.

Umm, are you trying to say that I'm stupid for not making my total conversion in eDuke? I had my reasons to do that, and I named some of them. Now, while we are still on the topic, are you an artist, mapper or a voice actor?

No way, I don't wanner *ofend anyone. images/icons/smile.gif
I have been using EDuke for over a year now, that's why I know what it is capable of, and that's why I think that other people should try it.
Also, I'm a con coder, and has been re-codeing a fiew of the weapons in EDuke.

Yes, but you have to get other people install latest Duke3D, and then make them download eDuke and hope it will work... I still have thoughts of maybe making a port to eDuke if I will have the time (and desire) to do that.

I agree that there's lot of trouble with the instalation of EDuke, but it can be fixed easily:
Go buy the atomic edition, it's not expensive at all!
Also, by not using EDuke, you'll only make the work harder and if the TCs/MODs are being made for EDuke, people will just go get it.

Manson - if Eduke doesn't offer him anything he wants to do then just leave it.
There are so many problems with the first release that relate mainly to its WWII GI heritage. Hopefully Matteus will do with Eduke what I'd like to see and have everything not rendering realated accessable.

Well the weapons - let's see.
Annoyingly useless animation routine for pistol.
Pipebomb modes don't work correctly - leaving you with the highly useless timed mode.
Just don't push Eduke Manson - it's not that good yet, frankly, it's currently a shambles.

Well, Matt has done the pistol himself, and it looks right to me, also he has done the chaingun and the shotgun.
The rest of the weapon animations I have done, and they're correct, I can tell you.
I agree there's problems with the pipebomb, has anybody made a remoted pipe bomb?

I agree that 2.0 had lots of trouble.

Hmm, THAT I didn't know.
When did you get it?
And why don't you like it?
Which version do you have? (whats possible?)

BTW: If you have it, then why havn't you made the pipebomb yourself?

By the way, by native Americans I meant people who were born in America, not American Indians.

Because if I use it I have no idea how long it'll be before other people can see my releases put simply.

What's the problem?

You guys talk about how annoying the pipebomb's timer is. Mine's worse. It shrinks the blast radius to where it has to be exactly where the target is! If I even put it one foot away from the target (a dead body, for example) there is no effect. Maybe I should double the radius. Oh yeah, it's already at room-cleaning radius!

Why don't I get the point in what you just wrote?

He's saying the blast radius will deal no damage, but gib corpses. I think so anyway. The key of course is to make the explosion spawn another actor that has a normal blastradius.

If I remember correctly, it's already at about 100,000,000 radius (which means, if you can see the bomb, YOU ARE SCREWED!).

Even if it's not for 3DRealms, (even though I may just drool a bit if 3DRealms let me in (In my dreams)! But no fooling? I can do gross stuff too, not just the traditional stuff. and I am a detail (DETAIL) artist and a realism artist. My email is gwhattaway@prodigy.com smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

What really bothers me, as an actor and performer, is the fact that he/she is after Native Americans for voice actors.???
What I mean is, does this person want Indian people doing voices.

Deathtoll - I think you and I both know he means white, middle class, 'average' Americans.
