Hey people,
My bro's making a level on Build and he has trouble inserting touchplates. Anyone know how to insert touchplates that when you walk over blow something up or anything like that.
Plus, anyone know how to speed up elevating platforms?
Thanks,

The little "T" symbol at the beginning of the Tileset is the Touchplate sprite. Insert one in any sector that you want to act as a touchplate.
To link a Touchplate to another sprite (Activator, MasterSwitch) you need to give both sprites the same low-tag. So if your Touchplate has a low-tag of 5, the Activator must also have a low-tag of 5. The Touchplates high-tag determines how many times the Touchplate can be used. So a high-tag of 1 means you can only trigger it once.
To speed up your lift, try inserting a GSpeed sprite into the same sector as your lift and changing the low-tag number of the GSpeed sprite.

Additionally, a technique I use alot is raising the "T" sprite a few clicks, that way the button sector starts out at that height and lowers when you step on it, making it a floor button. Floor buttons are neat. :-)

So THAT'S why when I try to put a touchplate on a slope the slope acts funny.
Try getting it to pop back up!

A common mistake people make on slopes is not realising that the sprite needs to be at the same height as the floorz for many effect to work - but CTRL+PG DN and pressing S in 3D mode will place the sprite on the slope at not necesarially at the right height.
Thusly, you need to make sure the sprite is at the correct height - I hope you can work out your own methods because it's not rocket science.

Well I never expected so many people to have problems with creating touchplates. Thanks to everyone for their help. Might use these ideas in some of my new levels.
