Followed all directions on FaQ, still says put in cd?

Greetings.
Ok i have read all of the support faq's, i have done every step numerouse times, build is working fine, but cant play the game. says put the cd in, cd is in, and it still isnt doing it. yes i have followed all posted instructions.what am i missing?

What does your CDROM.INI file say?

I have reinstalled and gone over everything 10 times, which brought me to this original posting for help.
My cdrom.ini says
D:\support\

as it says on the Faq. i will try a few more times to see again, but i am very thorough, having printed almost everything i find concerning build in general.

Reinstall - you may have possibly corrupted one of the files that tells Duke3d.exe where the CD ROM drive is (reinstalling is drastic but the most simplistic method).

Sorry, should have asked with the original question:

Is your CD-ROM drive on D:?

Can you view/explore the drive through Windows Explorer (or whatever you use)?

Also, you are using the CD that matches the version you are playing? (Atomic, etc)
