I think it would be better if the touch-screen would be used for inventory items and wepons switching... or for looking up and down...

The only game that would probably move me to buy a Nintendo DS.

I think they should have released at least one Duke game for every current console (esp. the GC http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif).
It wouldn't have to slow down the development of DNF as they wouldn't make the games themselves. They would have to find good developers, though.

Would indeed be nice. There should be an automap, but the touch pad should also function as looking, switching weapons, and switching items.

Simple, leave the map, if you touch the map area area it's look control, if you lift off of it, there would be buttons along the bottom (and maybe the top or sides) for different weapon/inventory functions and such. There could be things on the touch screen for jump and duck, which if pressed would still allow you to look around (unlike the other buttons), and then for instance, R could be shoot, and L could be look, and those could be flipped around, and then either side of the face buttons (the d pad or A B X Y buttons) would be used for movement, and thus you could have both left and right handed control. It could even be programmed so you could pause the game, and move the exact location of the jump and duck buttons on the touch screen to somewhere easy for you to remember.

Who said it HAS to be Duke3D/64 DS? It could be a Duke 1 & 2 combo. Or better yet... Finish up lameduke and throw it on DS http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Wasnt the problem w/ lameduke the overuse of features? or was that 0.99? The DS could handle those features.

IMO, they should release Manhatten Prodject on DS. Thats probably the best side scroll I played (untill LV 3-4)

PS: And the f***ing cars.

Hm... if I'm not mistaken, Nintendo 64 has Duke Nukem 3D on it. It has far better weapons.. even though same 2D sprites... In terms of weapons, Duke64 lookes much better than the PC version. Was it done later or something? Oh and music is much-much better there. GRABBAG sounds very close to mp3 quality.. forgot how the other ones sound =))))
But hey! It would be awesome to have DukeDS!! http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I playedit for N64 a ways back. The game is pretty much the same. I think most of the weapons are the same except the ripper (if i remember correctly). They changed a few areas in some of the maps (namely the bathroom in Hollywood among others >:(). It was still cool to run through and the warps still work haha! But I couldn't continue on playing duke with no mouse !? http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mryuck.gif

Haha yes, Duke's no fun without a mouse. But still... even though some areas in some of the maps, were modified a tiny bit, they did and do look somewhat better... like the modified building in E1L1 that now has a garage in it.
The pistol 64 looks way better than that of the original duke... since the game is now coming back to life, I think it should have the 64 version pistol....

However I doubt they're gonna put Duke Nukem 3D on Nintendo DS.. Manhattan Project more likely =)

That's why I gave up on the GBA Duke. I can't control it with a pad.
