I made a remark in a Doom 3 thread about getting the expansion pack, and someone asked me privately what games I have. Well, this is what's on my bookshelf here at 3DR. I have about 25 or so Xbox games, but they're all at home. Just about everything else is up here at 3DR.

I also got to thinking that it might be interesting to see pictures of people's game box collections, so post one up if you have one.

I have to have a box for the worst game ever (Big Rigs). Playboy was done by the same guys who did Manhattan Project, so I got a few copies of that when it came out. There's actually several games by Arush (the DNMP guys). From Arush on the shelf: Obviously Manhattan Project. Then Playboy, Devastation, & Hunting Unlimited 2. Actually quite a lot of the games on these shelves are from friends of mine who used to work here.

I've got all my old 3DR, and lucasarts games in a big plastic crate with generic jewel cases, I don't have the old boxes anymore http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif, i've got all the monkey island games/ full throttle/ indiana jones fate of atlantis/ space quest/ police quest, to think I was going to sell all this stuff on ebay at one point until I slapped myself silly over it. As for new games I have UT 2004, FAR CRY & Rainbow six 3, which keep me satisfied for now.

I have my game boxes shoved in my closet. The only ones I really treasure are my Quest for Glory 1 and Colonel's Bequest because those were the first games I ever bought. Actually, my closet door is open and I can see my Warcaft Battlechest box sticking out. If I had a camera I'd take a pic.

I still have all my old big sized game boxes in my cupboard. Mint condition more or less. Bought a big boxed copy of duke3d + the plutonium back on ebay recently too.

Seriously though, I try not to waste space. I just have a tower where a few of my CDs are stacked in (can't remember the last time I had a look overthere...) but most of my stuff is in a big box somewhere away from my room.

Get your games at Sam's Club. They still have big box versions of current games. Saw Doom 3 there in a large box.

Oh and I have hardly any games nowadays.. I usually sell all mine off.

I'm going to start collecting games from now on though.. but I'm waiting on the next gen consoles before I start doing that.. my current computer can't handle anything and I'm sticking to more console games.

IMO, big box collections, while impressive, aren't as impressive as smaller ones - because larger boxes create the illusion of more games. Smaller boxes filling up the same amount of space are more impressive.

There really is something about the big boxes. When they started doing the trendy small boxes... I dunno, it was just weird. Oddly enough, they're just boxes, I don't know why we have some kind of attachment to the bigger ones. Maybe because when the big-box games were out, the game industry was more at it's pinnacle, until it became more about selling than entertainment?

I have like 5 or 6 boxes I don't feel like taking a shot of. There is something about the boxes I like, they stand out more and say "hey, I own this game".

Then you have the game reissues which stuff the games in a box and the CD's are just in paper, so you kinda need the box anyway.... I'm a bit of a neat freak (well, you wouldn't believe it if you saw my room!), so I like consistent things, one day I'll have a nice CD shelf for all my games.

This is my 'easy access' shelf. I have another drawer with probably another 50 games or so and 2 shopping bags in my closet. Obviously, I was running out of room a long time ago and had to get rid of most of the boxes.

I've also given away about another 2 shopping bags of games to people becuase they either wouldn't work anymore or because I was bored of them.

Well, the same day I wrote that letter, I noticed that all the reasons that were in it, I dealt with them in nearly every server! So, I decided it was too harsh, and came back.

I also found a sweet server on CS: S, when the admin is on twice a day. He banned around 6 or 8 hackers during my sessions.
