yep, game is waste of my time, totally. it takes up over 5Gb of my HDD (DVD) and its total rubbish.
car physics suckk (no speed feeling, stupid cornering, acceleration very fast (2 fast).
Running around with gun....seems ok, but camera isnt quite smooth as gta-s.

Thanks for the info.
I read some lack-luster reviews......but wondered what non-professional reviewers thought.
Not to mention the unbalanced difficulty... lots of extra-easy levels, with some extra-hard levels here and there.
I bought this game for PS2 when it was released and I gave up finishing it because repeating the same insanely hard level more than 100 times is just crazy.

I played it..briefly. The very first level turned me off. You had to shoot a few guys then hop in a car and chase down some guy. I think I tried it 10 times before I just turned my X-Box off and went back to my PC.

The game isn't out yet... not until the 18th. (for the PC)
hmmmm....
(by "out" I mean official release... )

What?! You were expecting some miracle over the PC version after the console versions ended up being a turd?!

My computer still hasn't forgiven me for installing Breed on it.

Har.. Sounds like I'm the only person that actually likes Driv3r. (I have it for PS2). It may be intensly difficult, so on the 10th time on trying a mission, I would just muck around and have some fun for a while, then I would try properly again, and soon it would be complete.
I thought the cities were cool, because, IIRC, werent they based on the real cities?
Anyway, the game is fun. You feel so unstoppable when rampaging in a truck... Lalala...

Are you guys commenting on the console version or the PC version. We all know the console version sucked, but wouldn't they be absolutely insane not to make it right for the PC after a year of extra time?

It was fairly crap. I had the PS2 version. No real problems with the game. The cutscenes were funny and there wasn't enough action as far as being on foot goes. I think that killed a lot of the game play.
Well...they decided to be geniuses and release it as competition for GTA:SA http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif
That's smart.

I found myself driving around causing accidents more than playing missions.
What a shame, and when Driver and Driver II were such good games. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

And surprisingly part 2 never came out for the PC!

That always suprised me as well.
Ok, ok. We must agree that the game actually has some positive things.
The graphics are great, the framerate stable, the loading times are incredibly short (PS2 version) and the CGI scenes are good.
The story is interesting, the foot missions are simple but fun, there are some original ideas in some missions, and the game length is normal.
If you are very perseverant you'll enjoy this game.

I did like the shield system, where you can use them to get upgrades, however, you basically had to get a ton of shields.
If you failed an upgrade mission, you lost access to it for the entire game and there were only so many upgrade places. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif

That is exactly how Driver 2 was.

The only thing that was hard were a few of the upgrade missions. Other than that, the main missions were easy, especially if you had the upgrades, before you even do most of them.
I don't think I even used half of the upgrades, like the car ones, but the dual guns and flashlights were pretty good. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif

I liked driv3r at first. I still like its style better than all the freeroam car games.(I hate gta storys and characters and cartoon looking crap, true crimes was ok)
But I was playing through on a hard level and I was about to beat it. But then its froze. I always tried to look past the lag but... just to glitchy i stopped playing it right there.

True crime is BORING. It's a pity, because the story wasn't bad, and the cutscenes were really good.
Ah, and I can't forget the stupid camera, I haven't seen a worst camera since Enter the Matrix... half the game time the camera is filming a first plane of... walls.

Didn't play driv3r, personally I thought Driver 1 & 2 were some of the most amazing games ever made for the playstation.

TCLA can lick my ****s! That game was ported over to the PC by ******* who got his degree from the dumps. What kind of moron forces PC gamers to play it on keyboard and mouse only with no gamepad support.......what's even worse is the outdoor graphics look something out of Driver2.
It's that freakin crappy!

Eh, Driver 3 is alright. It doesn't do as many things as GTA:SA but it does work on other levels. I enjoy the less cartoonish visual style, and the powersliding around corners is more fun in Driver 3.
My only real problem when I rented it was the impossibility of aiming with the PS2 controller (Why on earth didn't they use GTA's lock on system?). So I might pick up the PC version if the mouse aiming is good.

Ahh damnit. I confused this game for True Crime. Haha! That one had some good cutscenes. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif
I honestly barely even remember most of the missions from Driver 3. I do remember the one with the 18 wheeler. Only because I played through it several times.

Do remember driver 2 beat gta3 to the I can get out of my car and run around thing. Driv3r is the least of these kinda games to rip of gta. It just took the next step, not at all ripping anything.

It wasn't boring to me at all. When you get good at the fighting its a blast! I beat it on all ending and even unlock all the dog bones! Also everyone has their own opinion so I respect that. Guess not everyone has a higher mental view point over that of a three year old.

I'm sorry, I didn't want to sound mean. It was a joke.
But you'll find lots more people that say TC is bad/boring than people that says its a good game.

I own that game and it just isn't well made IMO.
