Anyone got this? I do know it contains a preview for Doom 3 (which I don't value much) but I read somewhere it contains more than that, like wallpapers or screensavers and stuff.
Can anyone give me some details?

I own it.
It was only $10 bucks at Wal*Mart.
Yes, it does contain Doom 3 wallpapers,
but no screensavers.
There's 2 discs.
One has The Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, Final Doom.
The other has nothing but Doom3 stuff.
It's definetly worth getting.
It even comes with Doom95 so you can play it in Windows, but I still reccomend downloading ZDoom.

Doom 3 stuff, huh? Pity, I was kinda hoping they would've included stuff that's related to the (original) game more closely.
But yeah, I'm definitely getting it. Having a legit version just happens to be so much cooler than a busted-up warez copy. And it's cheap! http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Why do people keep mention this stuff in this forum?

Coming to a game developer's forum and saying you've ripped off other game developers is just such an arrogant thing to do.
It's also against the rules here.

And he just said he's buying the legit version, so what's your point? I'm not saying warez is good, but you don't have to get your panties in a knot every time someone mentions it in passing. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif

Im not saying the man does anything wrong with game, be it warez / legit. Im not touching that discussion, as its too hard to straighten out, and not suited for this forum either.
But the thing is, there are "nono"´s and "NO NO"´s. Warez is a "NO NO" on this board, and I bet most people see why, probalby even he does.
Simply, if you warez games, dont bring that up in this forum. Take it to mail, or wathever.
As for the original topic, I dont own it but I´ve heard what it has to offer. Anyway, Xgthug, already menationed it, and as he has the thing... He´s probably right. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Oh yeah, I bought the Doom: CE, like, early last year, maybe almost exactly a year ago when they first sold it for $10 at Wal-Mart like you said. It was well worth the wait, and I do believe that there was a whole lot out of it, so I'm not complaining about the value that the Doom CE had.
Doom 3 really seemed to have it all, and I can see a good future with the whole Doom Series, including Doom 3. Just wish that Doom 3 would've had more pizzazz to make the game a little more like the old games with the newer technology. I think that they used too many imps, and not enough variety like the old part of the series did.
Doom II was by far and beyond the best of the Doom Series as a whole, most personality, most action, more varieties of monsters, mapping features were superior to any of the others (well, Final Doom was awesome, but Doom II is by far the original one, and better game from that version of the engine). There's really nothing wrong with any of those games.
I just think that after 10+ years, Doom II is still one of the better FPS games around as far as quality, brightness, variety of monsters, best options for an FPS as fr as gameplay is concerned, really the game that modeled all of the better FPS games around, of course Quake and Half-Life certainly took that one step further, so you can't forget about them.

Good point, Doom3 does have too many imps. I think id actually play it past level 4 or 5 if i COULD SEE SOMETHING! Its so freakin dark in that game...

Yeah, I was hoping that Doom 3 would've been like the older part of the series, only with the new engine and new physics, I wasn't expecting what it actually wound up being. I was expecting bright areas with SOME dark rooms, like the old Doom series, and a wide variety of monsters and things to do, but on the same engine. How would the level "Hangar" look like on that new engine, did anyone build that map for Doom 3 yet? It's the famous map where Doom began, as you well know.

How would it look? It wouldnt. Everything would be pitch black, unless somebody added a plasma gun cuz it glows nicely :P, and the flashlight is almost useless cuz if you find something it kills you before you switch to a gun.

There was this one gaming forum once, and my post got removed. And what did it say?
"I heard someone warzored the Harry Potter game. I don't know which is more frightening, the game itself or the fact someone has actually warzored it." (or something like that, it was a long time ago)
The post got removed. Seriously! http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif (I think some people are just too damn uptight...)

And that has what to do with Doom Collectors Edition?

And Oh noes! Somebody mentioned the fact that they are buying it instead of downloading it! BAN HIM!!!!
http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif Jesus christ. You guys who make a big fuss over the f**kin word "warez" are just as bad as people who insist on talking about it. Wanna know why? Because either way you are WASTING POSTS.

There's no wallpapers or screensavers on that CD. You can pick it up from EB games really cheap.
