I donīt think there will be a single-player expansion pack! I think (like many people) that Halo 2 was cut in 2 pieces, I mean many features, places.... which have been announced in 2003 arenīt in the game and I donīt think that Bungie rejected this ideas! (battle on the moon etc...)
And a Halo 3 for XBox 2=money, money, money!

I was gonna post this a few days ago but get tired of listening to the anti-Halo zealots on this board who feel the need to remind everyone how much they think Halo sucks everytime a topic about it is posted.

They shouldn't have tried tricking people into thinking xbox could handle more than it could, this technology is lightyears behind what any current PC could do, they should leave it at that and stop trying to milk a dead cow.

if they are gonna have an expansion pack, maybe they will have to port the game to the pc, then make an expansion pack because I don't see doom 3 ROE on the xbox, so i doubt that halo 2 can have it's expansion on the xbox.
Well they might just pull a real cheap move and do what Bethesda did with Morrowind. Re-sell the full Halo 2 game, with the expansion pack included into it. I liked 2 more than 1. It was a better game, but all the flaws from the original made their way over to the sequel.
I agree, 2 was better than 1. But that's not really saying much.
I never thought Halo was a "great" FPS. It was hyped to be g0d in an XBox game form, but I just never really enjoyed it.
The only level I truly liked, was the beach level. And that's only because it showed off what was really capable of the Halo team; waves splashing onto shore, the water looked great, the outdoors area looked awesome. But then later in the game, i was stuck in the cliche "alien ship" for awhile and I started getting bored of it.

I thought 2 was better. I also enjoy Halo 2's multiplayer more. I thought dual weilding was hella cool and the alien sword rules. But it's still not deserving of even half the praise its gotten.

I though 2 had none of the purity of the first. I mean Assault on the Control Room was just one huge epic battle situation, as was Two Betrayels. Halo was beatuful. Keyes was wonderfully atmospheric.
In Halo 2 you get some outdoor stuff, then some indoor stuff, then you get to fight along side some people, and then everything changes again and you're playing from an entirely different perspective. Along the way the magic is lost.
Sadly for me, the "magic" was lost halfway through the First halo.

Or they could pull a Rockstar. Remember when Rockstar released the GTA:London expansion for GTA 1? From what I heard, you had to insert the London disc, then the GTA 1 disc, then the London disc again before it could run.

Yes, and that happens to be years ago, before Rockstar and DMA (now Rockstar North, creators of Vice City) even got "heavily" known.

I don't go around and just bash in other game's threads because I didn't like them. FOR EXAMPLE. I hated the splinter cell games, but I dont see a thread on them and take it as an invitation to piss everyone off.
ANYWAYS according to gamespot bungie is supposidly going to make an official announcement by the end of the week...their comment was that they wanted to bring new content to those with and without xbox live, so I think the multiplayer maps on the disc will be available through live for free.

Bungie is preparing an expansion pack for Halo 2 which will include nine multiplayer maps, a mini-documentary on the game, and multiplayer content for Xbox Live, System Link and split-screen.
Well that's an incredibly lame expansion pack. HOW ABOUT AN ENDING?!

what was the ending? Don't worry I'm not going to be playing this game ever again, I rented it just before I sold my xbox, and it was the final nail in the coffin of my decision because I realized how archaic it felt next to, well, just about any FPS on my PC...

A few new MP maps isn't that bad to me. Me and my buddys could use a few more places to play on.
And i to think the Halo bashing is getting old, i don't think there has been a thread in awhile that hasn't been poluted by you haters. If you don't like it play something else, theres plenty of games to go around. Also, alot of you guy's hated it when Draz bashed HL2, so why would you go and bash Halo if you know how anoying it can be.

Not HL2... Source. It is the most overrated POS middleware in FPS.

I played Halo on PC, it was okay...don't have an Xbox though, but I'd like to of played Halo 2.
In fact screw the expansion, I wanna know if it's coming out on PC.

Hey now, I'm not a fanboy. In my opinion, halo 2 wasn't all that great. And no way I'm gonna spend 20 bucks for multiplayer maps. And yes the ending sucks. And yes, half-life 2 is better. But I don't go around to threads for games I hate and just bash. I mean I thought doom 3 was somewhat of a turd, but you don't see me spamming up threads there about its expansion pack.

The new multiplayer maps are laughable. Once again proving Bungie level designers are either (a) lazy, (b) terrible at their job, or (c) both.

Alot of this is about the cheating thats been going on via the stand-by button. I dont wana explain it all because well its alot of shit, but if you read the bungie weekly updates you should get the just of it. The online maps will be released for free in late summer, for those who have xbox live at leaste. Now the other MAIN reason for this extra disk is for those who DONT have xbox live, so instead of them having to subcribe, all they do is but the expansion. The single player mode was nice, but the main turn on is the onne mode which unlike most games(unreal) isnt crazy shoot everything kill all no strategy. Its a little more slowed and more strategy is thought out.

I love how fans blame developers when a game doesn't live up to their preconceived notions. Everything Bungie has said about the game (with the exception of game length perhaps) was true.
Every feature that was revealed was in there at some point in time, but of course many were removed because they didnt work well or fit the game Bungie was trying to create. This is what happens in every game development process.
All Bungie promised were a few qualitative improvements over the first game, more level design variation, more interesting objectives. We got these things.

Halo2 didn't spark for me like the first one did, I think they really should have waited for the xbox2 before making a sequel, and really broke some ground again, also bringing nostalgic gamers into the loop too. Halo 2 just ruined the cycle in my opinion, but hey, i'm sure its enjoyable online, as I'm speaking from single player experience only...
