I tried to install eDuke but I got this error:
"Old file not found. However a file with the same name was found. No update done since contents do not match"
I didn't even bother trying to re-install from the CD since this IS a completely fresh install.
Maybe it's because it's not THE atomic edition, but something called "Kill-A-Ton collection"?

Why not just use EDUKE32 ?

Hey, thanks.
Now I just need to find some eDuke-using mod so I can see if it actually works, too. :P

That's exactly why. FormGen mucked up the file time/date stamps on their version, so it fails.
But as was suggested, try the EDuke32. Move advanced, probably less problematic.

If you still want to play the official release of eduke with the kill-a-ton-version, you can go to this page:
http://rtcm.thecomitatus.com/knowledge-base/downloads-rtcm/source-eduke-matt/
and download the
Eduke Windows Installer bug fix v1
by Photon Man
It solves your problem.
