I think Dungeon Siege is abandonware now

Its a good fun game. A complete no-brainer game and very repetitive but strangely compelling. And its not abandonware.

Dungeon Siege is straight-forward hack and slash. I played about 40 percent of it before I got bored. Others seemed to like it much more than I did.

I really enjoyed playing Dungeon Siege. It's the first time I ever played an PC-RPG and I love it. They're working on a sequel which should be released this year. The donkey could get a bit in the way from time to time, but it's nothing compare to the wonderful gameplay of the game. I haven't played the expansion, Legends of Aranna, yet.

It was like Diablo, although the perspective was a bit more 3d.

Don't go online. The community is dead.

I played the living shit out of the game, and I loved it.

For me, it was fun to play through once, but then I went right back to Diablo II and never played Dungeon Siege again.

I hated Diablo, but loved Dungeon Siege. Having up to 8 characters lends a bit of strategy to a genre that's otherwise nothing but a clickfest. Graphics were beautiful, and there's no level loading ever. Could have used more RPG plot elements.

Yeah, i also loved Dungeon Siege.... up until the point where it became ridiculously hard to level up in the harder difficulties. I never really bothered with the whole campaign/quest thing and went instead to the LAN option of hosting my own game using the alternate world (which i preferred over the main campaign's one). Loved playing it on my own and with friends, but once you got to level 45 or so, it was too easy on the easiest level but you could set it harder (depending on character level) and this was better for getting XP and being able to use the higher requirement equipment.

I think i managed to get to level 62 or something.... after that it was ether too easy on medium for very low XP, but incredibly difficult on hard for not much more XP. I decided to throw in the towel at that point.

In some ways, the ease of levelling reminds me of WoW.

After reading some reviews it sounds like my cup of tea. I'll get it.

I'm not saying there was nothing to like about it. Controlling multiple characters was a terrific idea, the interface was wonderfully designed, and the graphics were (and still are) stunning. Unfortunately, I found the game itself rather dull and lethargic. The combat was slow-paced, the game practically played itself at times, and the loot was rather uninspiring. I found Diablo II a much more enjoyable game overall.

Oddly enough, I am looking forward to Dungeon Siege 2 as it seems it will address some of my complaints about the original (a better combat system and more interesting/diverse loot are two of the biggies; it also appears they are revamping the character development system as seen in this screenshot (http://www.actiontrip.com/previews/pics/dungeonsiege2_i3.jpg)).

Don't even compare that game to Diablo. You know there is a reason while millions upon millions of people still play Diablo II on bnet http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Haha! No argument there. It helps to have decent multiplayer working out of the box. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I will be one of the first to say it really doesn't hold a candle to Diablo 2.

My pal and I bought it thinking it was going to have great multiplayer. Well, it took about 20 mins for us to synch up the first time we played. We literally just hung out in ICQ until the damn thing said it was synched. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif

I also made the mistake of playing as a Rogue. My pal played as a Mage. His spells were basically heat-seeking, while my arrows were not. I'm not saying that sucked, but the arrows were pretty damn slow, and the AI was constantly moving around so I would always miss with the damn arrows. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif

Hack-N-Slash rpgs are ok. Diablo 2 definatley had more of an "epic" feel to it (I loved the Single Player actually. Great details and textures. But the multiplayer is where that game truly shines.)

I prefer Fallout 2. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I got that and Fallout 1 for $10 in a doublepack.

I've been meaning to get Fallout 1 + 2 for ages. It's too much hassle though, I can only find it online. I'll get it eventually.

Get it. Its a great game that takes a while to beat. Online play is ok, but not great. You should get the expansion too.

I found mine at the local Walmart, and I bought it along with Redneck rampage + Rides Again, http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Can't wait for the movie too! It's said to be at the scale of Lord of the Rings!

Is a good game, but its way better if played with some friends, but then you have lots of little fights (real-life ones) about "that loot was mine!"

Since you didn't indicate in any way that you were joking, neither will I when I say: Can't go wrong with Uwe Boll!
