Sound Problem

Heh, wierd. I was on my computer about an hour or so ago and my sound was working. When I booted it up now the sound no longer works. It's turned on. It says the sound hardware isn't installed.

What OS are you using? If you're using XP, and you have a recent System Restore, revert to that. If not, simply reinstall the drivers. Also, what sound card are you using?

Go re-install the drivers for the device. A hardware device needs a driver to function, and if the current one seems buggy, you could always get the latest one (or re-download it).

When I restarted my computer it fixed itself.

You're not using a Sound Blaster Audigy are you? This has happend to me a few times. The driver will just puke, and will disapear until I restart.
