Hey guys, I just got done scanning my computer and a bunch of zip files came up as corrupted and could not be deleted. And most of them are comming from a folder named "Javasoft." I assumption with it having to do with Sun Micorsystems program Java was correct. But some of the files have suspicious file names like
"C:\Program Files\Javasoft\JRE\1.3.1\lib\jaws.jar.netscape\sec urity\ForbiddenTargetException.class"
"C:\Program Files\Javasoft\JRE\1.3.1\lib\jaws.jar.netscape\sec urity\JSException.class"
and
"C:\Program Files\Javasoft\JRE\1.3.1\lib\jaws.jar.sun\corba\se \internal\corba\debug.class"
Note: there are a large number of these. Not just 3.
The question is should I delete them?

By default, the folder should be "C:\Program Files\Java\...". If you have both, the one you're seeing could be trouble.
If in doubt, it probably wouldn't hurt to uninstall anything Java-related from "Add/Remove Programs", reboot, manually delete any folders/files left behind, then redownload the latest JRE from http://www.java.com.

Use an anti virus scanner as well. If they are corrupted anyway, they aren't going to be of any use to you, so delete them. You can always download the java stuiff again anyway.
Backup before scanning with the AV, then delete them. If you have to change the file attributes to do so, then so be it. (Right click > Properties > remove any ticks in boxes that say hidden, system, read only).

No, those are ok. They're part of the Java Runtime Environment. Those files were also packed inside of a java archive file named 'jaws.jar". The odds of a virus or worm infecting something within a packed archive are negligible.
Also, the jar archive format does not use CRC codes, which is probably why you're getting the "corrupt file" message. Those files are fine. Just tell your scanner not to search within .jar files.
