Alien Hominid

Being a massive fan of side-scrolling shooters, I nearly soiled myself when I realized that Alien Hominid was released last November. I'll hopefully pick it up sometime this week, especially considering the 25-30$ pricetag.

Of course, seeing that there were no threads on the game in these forums that I could find, I decided to post a thread about it. The game looks like loads of fun, with a high difficulty level and charming (if not gory) graphics.

So, anyone play this yet? What were your thoughts?

I played it when it was a small flash game on newgrounds. It was pretty good. However, I hope and assume they added a lot too it to justify the price and whatnot.

I saw a bit on a computer games show about the release. They said something about doing it all from the ground up - i.e new art and graphics etc. It's a different, but same beast from the flash programme.

I don't think i'll get it though as i already have Viewtiful Joe and while not the same kind of game, i've got enough 2D side-scrolling games to be going with.

I got the Gamecube version. Its pretty cool, better than flash version. My friend called it Alien Homocide :P

I kept up on the Flash version. It's good, indeed.

I haven't played the console version. Can people tell us what the huge differences are?

Smoother gameplay, better graphics/sprites, more action?

Smoother gameplay, WAY better graphics/sprites. easier controls, and some mini-games. I never played the flash one all the way so i dont know if the console one is longer or not.

I played the flash game, but as far as I know, it only included one level with FBI agents. I wasn't sure if they ever expanded it from there in different versions, but I do know that the console version has a bunch more levels and settings.

And yeah, I picked it up today for the Gamecube, since it'll be easier to multiplay that way. I've played a bit of co-op with a friend, and I must tell you, it is leaps and bounds more fun than the flash version (you ask how is that possible? Well, I'll just tell you it is and that's that). I don't have time right now to write much about it, but when I get a chance, I'll explain a bit on why you should pick up this game if you are any sort of 2D-shooting fan.
