My ansher: Yes
This man could flex his slim jim legs round your neck faster than you could say spleen, or save your spleen for that matter, he would dominate you based on Bloodsport.
On the topic of Bloodsport, he's directing the official sequel "KUMITE", this better hit a theatre release.

Of course he could. Toshiro Mifune could kick anyone's arse. Especially in acting skills.
He's my favourite actor, by the way.

Toshiros a favorite of mine as well, I'd really like to own all the Kurosawa criterion dvds but they are so expensive. I have yet to see "shoguns assasin" a samurai movie with Mifune and Sonny Chiba, thats worth 20 bucks alone.

van damme was only ever in one good movie - universal soldier. every other movie was either mediocre or complete rubbish, generally falling in the latter category. but i'm sure he could kick my ass, so don't tell anyone that.

The movies were kinda corny, but that's what makes them great. \o
Plus, he could do the splits http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif, meaning he probably got his wang sliced off in a war. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif

Which ultimate fighting contest movie was he in? http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Anyway, the only movie of his that I liked was Blood Sport.

Just to clarify, that movie he shot in Bulgaria had something to do with a train, and some gas that was making the passengers unhealthy and stuff. I watched it in the train going to a city in Bulgaria, didn't like it quite a lot, and 2 weeks after I rent it without knowing I saw it and hated it even more. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif

I have to agree that Bloodsport was the only good movie he did, it was all downhill from there. The rest of them were typical Hollywood bad action formula movies.

another film i liked was "cyborg" which was rather trashy and not at all hollywood-like. no story and no point, but the fighting scenes were cool! http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Personally, i think that Universal Soldier was his best film. Not because of his acting, more for the overall story and fiction....
Bloodsport. Bolo Yeung is awesome.
I didn't like Universal Soldier... way too much "dudity" as I call it (dudes + nudity = dudity), and being next to Van Damme kinda brought Dolph Lundgren down a notch.

I bet segal could kick his ass. And I'm not even a segal fan.
There's only four moves that jean does. focus jab, Foward and reverse cresants kicks along with some other round house variations, but mainly cresants. Finally stand in a firm tiger stance while looking left to right with mouth wide open shouting AHHHHHHH!!! in slow motion.
I hate Chuck Norris, but I bet Norris would kick the shit out of van dumb, because Norris was a consecutive national martial arts champion.
Jackie Chan would take Van dumb. This is just stupid. Jean Claude is a tough guy wannabe. He's just a poser.

I already mentioned Steven Segal... and yeah, Jackie is the best!
Although i think Jet Li might actually win in a straight fight since he doesn't mess around with tricks and stuff during fighting....

^ Heh! True. Good old Dolph lost all hope of starring as Duke after teaming up with him. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif
Segal is pretty good to watch as well. More corn than corn on the cob. \o I think the ones where he plays as some upstate new yorker are hilarious. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif

As for him getting beat up by his bodygaurd it was Chuck Zito the leader of the New York Hells Angels that knocked him out in Scores. Supposedly Van Damme was trash talking him in the club and he got wind of it and went up to him and punched him out before he even had the chance to do anything, knocking him out cold.

Van Damne is an actor, not a fighter. If he were to enter K1, even at the peak of his career, he'd get his ass handed to him. Heck, I'm sure the average street fighter would knock him out.

Van Dame, Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan, Jet Li. Theyr'e a bunch of n00bs compared to Bruce Lee.

And he's crazy, too.
I remember a story where he wrecked his hotel room because the thought he was spied upon. He was moved to another room, and he broke everything there too. He was moved to a third one and after he did it *again*, he was thrown out of the hotel.
And another where a caretaker woman of a hotel had to go and comfort him like a little baby after he had a nightmare of Mike Tyson-looking ghost floating above his bed chanting "Belgium sukcs, Belgium sucks".

Wow, he's like the worst actor ever and the world's greatest ****tard. Watch his interviews for great laugh.
He always gets asked simple question, like when is the movie going to be released, yets he ends up babbling nonsense like;
"If there wasn't any air, birds would not fly.."

He sued because he wrote The Kumite and was promised 3% of the profits. They didn't end up making The Kumite (at the time) but reworked it into The Quest. He had to sue to get his writing credit back, but didn't get any of the profits because it was an oral contract and the judge didn't allow any of the alleged eyewitnesses testify.
