i'm suprised i haven't seen a thread about this here but american dad is a new cartoon by seth macfarlane, the guy who made family guy

i've just downloaded the newest episode as i don't have digital and its amazing....it really is....slightly more political than family guy but they're very similar

if you loved family guy, you'll love american dad, i guarantee...everything is very quick fire

i know they are all comparable to family guy but the very fact it takes on a really similar format is brilliant....because thats what seth macfarlane does really well...tightly written satire thats very sharp and quick

why change what works?

His new show sucks. Family guy was funny because of Peter being stupid but hard to hate, like Homer. Just making more FG episodes and scrapping this new junk would be a good idea.

What I liked about Family Guy was the mostly apolitical humor. It was pop culture references and spoofs, which work best, while American Dad is... well, not very funny... at... all.

Let's put it this way - it's as funny as the intentional-ball-injury videos on American's Funniest Home Videos. There's no comparing to Family Guy.

So far American dad has sucked the big one. Exactly the same format as Family guy, even down to the same character structuring, except now it's not fresh. It feelslike a cheap immitation of his own work, although much more slowly paced with a lower number of jokes but lacking any character depth to compensate.

I've really grown tired of Family Guy. I used to think it was funny but it's not particularly creative.

There are too many jokes that use the same format of:
Character 1: This is bad.
Character 2: Almost as bad as that time we were stranded on an isle.
*cuts to Giligin's Island where they say one line and then explode or something*
