I was just wondering, is themes still supported in Win2000? Because either they took it out, or they hid it pretty well http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
just curious...

There are no themes in 2000.

Win2000's GUI is identical to that of Windows 98.

OK, fine. The icons are a little different, and when you right click, the menus fade in/out, among other things. Heh.
Windows 2000 is based on NT is it not? Windows 98 is based on Windows 95.

...and as far as I know, NT didn't have themes, but I could be wrong.
I was referring to the Windows 2000 model is based on NT. We're talking programming here, not themes http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

I'm not stupid... yet http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
but it's my experience that if it's not in NT, it probably isn't in 2000 either...

Yes there are themes for Win2k, you can find them here:
www.stardock.com (http://www.stardock.com)
www.wincustomize.com (http://www.wincustomize.com)
And btw, since WindowBlinds is hardware accelerated (unlike the standard Windows GUI) it's actually faster.

I don't know how hardware-specific it is, but when I tried WindowBlinds on my dad's computer, I didn't notice any difference. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Well yeah, lol, it's like the difference between 100fps and 150fps. You can't tell either way. However, it does mean that you get lots of extra features and customisabilty for free, performance wise.

Actually, my dad's computer is rather slow at rendering the XP GUI. WB still did very little. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif
