How do you change the Episode names for Duke Nukem 3D v1.3D? Sunstorm somehow managed to do this with Duke it out in D.C.
To those who answer, all thanks. images/icons/smile.gif

Ever heard of a HEX editor?

Get OpenGL BuildTouch at RTCM. Much easier than a hex editor.

Sunstorm did it by editing the con files, but Duke it out in DC requires the atomic version, not 1.3d.

The RTCM link is in my sig. If you can't find it by clicking through to files/build files, use the built in search engine in the navbar.

cyborg, he said "RTCM". I have never been to that site before, and I didn't know my way around.

You're right, I stand corrected. As for gamer not running, I simply installed it to a blank directory and dragged the grp file and cons over to my duke directory. Gamer is the pits. images/icons/smile.gif

Not easily doable as the files are slapped together in an .ssi file on the cd. graemlins/mryuck.gif

It can be run under 1.3D, I would prove it but the Gamer program doesnt run on my computer so I cant install it. But if you look on the cd, theres are 2 seperate installs for Duke It Out In DC, a 1.3 and a Plutonium Pack/Atomic one.

EASIEST WAY TO CHANGE THE EPISODE NAMES???
Go to dos, then into the DUke3D directory and type:
edit user.con
You will see a list of the original episode names, then just type your one in over it.
Simple. images/icons/tongue.gif

If you want gamer to work, go to sunstorm's site(somthin' like 888storm.com or somthin' like that)and they have a P3 fix and some other fixes. if they dont have a fix, go on yahoo and type "Fixes for Duke It Out In D.C.".

Was that a sarcastic comment Kev, images/icons/shocked.gif
I thought that it was obvious that you could do it with both atomic and 3d...

Oh gosh Peter Johnston. I thought you were smart images/icons/smile.gif .. or.. you just didn't read whole the topic. I didn't know you could edit the Episode names just in the user.con with 1.3 images/icons/tongue.gif

Nope you can't just edit it with edit with 1.3 images/icons/smile.gif
