Does that kind a thing even exist?
I pretty much want to enter the operation and program soves it for me and it does not only show me the answer, but shows every operation.
mathcad??

Sorry, I haven't tried it personally. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

But it's worth checking out:

If you are broke :

Maxima (http://maxima.sourceforge.net/)

Axiom (http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/axiom) - I personally like this one better, seem to have better documentation

They don't show operations but they do show the answer.

My old TI-92 ran a copy of DERIVE. It's a very cool program.

You could try Maple (http://www.maplesoft.com/)

I could probably fire up Visual Basic and program you a specific-based calculator program. What exactly are you trying to solve? Just provide me with a formula and/or equation, and I'll program that in, test it out, and retest it to make sure the program will work and make the right types of calculations for you, and e-mail it to you as I get it finished. Would this help for you?

I think you mean Matlab, I've taken a course in it this semester. Really easy to use if you know what you're doing.

My favorite is Mathematica, followed by Matlab.

But I don't know if any of these will really be able to show you the steps (i.e. do your homework for you), because they don't always solve the problems the way a human does.

These are good for graphing, solving large systems, checking answers, and things like that. Not really for teaching you math.

In fact, it's easy to remember the name if you know that Matlab is MATrix LABoratory.
