From 2:04 to 2:14 you see a model of a girl with ponytails very similar to the recent flash girl thingie on prey.com http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Good eye http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif This most definatly looks to be the first screenshot of Prey (even if it is just a model)

Hmm...it wasn't textured, maybe because they didn't want us to see the final product!

Here's a comparison shot, they do look strikingly similar. Take a look at the placement of the hair bangs...

You guys notice that there's also an american indian woman on the same reel? From around 3:25- 3:28......

She's probably not related, but i thought i'd point it out.

What role would the little girl play in Prey http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
The Hero's little sister http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

EDIT: From 00:35 to 00:43 you can also see an untextured model that could very wel be made for a D3-engine type of game.
It looks very Quake IV-ish IMO. What do you guys think http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I would think she would be some sort of prophet or something, someone important to the fate of the world....

http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif Offcourse most of them saw that movie before, but the connection between that model and prey couldn't have been made before, because we only know the picture of that girl for a few days.

She doesn't look at all like the girl from the Prey Flash Animation on the Prey site..

I'm not sure if you got my previous comment correctly..what I meant is that the F.E.A.R. girl and the Prey girl don't look the same.

Little girls are pop now http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
They add extra mystic and mysterious feel...

Reminds me of the movie "Ring" http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You say pop now, but really you mean 3-4 years ago. I doubt that the development teams would suddenly add in a little girl because it's popular! :P

Kinda like the manipulation tools (grav gun, grabber, etc) came in at the same time. If an idea is good and is going to work for a certain genre of game then it's going to get used.

Funny how people often come up with the same ideas at the same time. Makes me think of HitchHiker's guide to the galaxy - we're all just computing the question and we all know what the current "answer" is.
