So this other day I got my new DFI LanParty motherboard. Excellent piece of hardware. The problem here is that it only has one COM port. Not that it would matter in common use, but this old classic, Settlers 2, looks up for the port everytime it starts (for mouse and stuff). It doesn't exist so it always greets me with an error message and doesn't load the game. So far I am running it via VDMSound. Running Windows XP.
Any ideas how to cheat the software to think the port is there?
