Is there a way for me to boost my mouse movement speed beyond the maximum that the Control Panel applet will let me? I just upgraded to a new monitor with higher resolution, so frankly I find even the max setting too slow.

Are you sure that you are changing the speed under pointer options?

What Windows can't provide, 3rd party programs will provide that, and much more.

then don't put your resolution on that high.

Of course. What other way is there in Windows to change the speed?

Ideally, I'm hoping it's some kind of registry setting that I can just input a higher value than the CP applet wants to.

Well, thanks, but you know any such programs?

http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif I LIKE the higher res. It's one of the reasons I upgraded from my 17" in the first place. Besides, it's an LCD, which should be run in native res most of the time.

What kind of mouse? If it's either a Logitech or a MS mouse, then you would want to install their respective drivers and look for the acceleration option to help the cursor move across massive amounts of screen real estate http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hhg.gif

Logitechs for example:
