Heard that the demo was rumoured to be released in the next 2 weeks but I've been unable to confirm. Does anyone have any info on this? Also heard the game was slated for June/July release.

funny you mention this as i was just thinking when a demo was due.
i haven't heard within 2 weeks but that we'd get it well before june.
their builds for the movies look solid. they could probably release a demo now.

It does look pretty sweat doesn't it? POE has just been wetting my appetite but there's no subsitute for DC. Of course, that'll all change with BF2 http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I can't wait for this game either. I have a feeling i will need to cancel my Everquest account shortly! \o
Hudson, I just read your last line in the sig. Classic. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Can't wait for BattleField 2
Vietnam was a waste of money - run too choppily; ended up uninstalling it before the first patch was released - but BF2 looks very nice.
Oh yes, Hudson, your sig rocks, though, perhaps, you might want to add:
[i]Insert big-arse ghey graphic with system specs "artistically presented" perhaps with an anime chick in there somewhere.... finished of with a logo for you nickname."

I would have done that if it weren't for 3DR's "No Sig Images" rule http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I liked it, but sadly none of my pals cared for it.
I managed to get a few games in with RB and RottKing, but the server we played on went down for good. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I love BF:Nam
Me, Ruger, Rollingbrass, RottKing and Drifter used to play all the time until my DSL gave out http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Too bad, I had a friggin blast.

Thats what happens when you type and work at the same time.
Anyway, when the demo is released who's up for some action? I've now got a 100Mbit (getting about 30Mbits eachway) Fibre optic connection. If the release a dedicated linux server, I'll stick it on my linux box as it's not doing much at the moment.

Looks really good, but from the playtests I've deduced this from the early build:
1. Needs engine optimization BADLY.
2. Needs better texture resolutions (see 1)
3. Helicopters are still damn hard to fly
4. Needs better texture resolutions (see 1,2)
5. Kickass sound
6. Takes some getting used to
The success of this game will depend on how well it shapes the community. If we get a BF1942-esque community with no communication, the battlefield ranking system will fail and the game will fail. If the game convinces the community that communication is worth the effort, the game will succeed greatly. All depends on vehicle-infantry balance (1 tank = 1-1.5 squads) and how many people use microphones.

Yeah, I wish people who played BF were more team orientated. Instead most want to fly off on their own in a chopper.
3. Helicopters are still damn hard to fly
Thank god. I hope they're as hard as DC. BF-V choppers were so damn easy to fly it was pathetic. DC Choppers took a LOT of practice just to do basic stuff - it was awesome and discouraged shitty pilots from flying (they normally crashed within 10 secs).
Nex.

There are still many people who can't fly the choppers/planes in BF:V. I absolutely love the control of them and hope they keep the same scheme. After all, i've spent a year flying them this way, it would most likely piss me off if they just went and changed it all of a sudden. Then again if they're controlled like the ones in DC then I guess it won't be too bad, because those were fairly easy to fly as well.

Heh, tell me about it. You can normally find them camping around the chopper spawn points - LOL http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Planes will fly much slower now to make it easier for them to have an impact on the ground battle. Which makes sense. It shouldn't take an expert pilot just to kill a tank with a missle.

...Scott Evans gave this hard playing crowd an unexpected exclusive. He revealed that a multiplayer demo would be released in mid-June.
From the BF2 official site. Mid June it is then I guess http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

From what i've seen from the movies it's going to be really really awesome, however there's one thing that struck my eye. That vehicles explode instantly into a bunch of shards and vanish. I really hope that's a client option, having wrecks lying around added a lot....
