What's the point of posting a thread in which the first post is two irrelevant words, giving absolutely zero information to anyone who may have inadvertently clicked on the thread under the false presumption that said thread may have had a point?
Here's the press release (http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/invrelations/adobeandmacromedia.html) and here's a story on CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2005/BUSINESS/04/18/adobe.macromedia.reut/index.html?section=cnn_latest) about it. In the future, do make note that there is an entire forum (http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/postlist.php?Cat=0&Board=fnordboard) just for this kind of information-less thread.

Firstly, the Subject says it all.
Secondly, I knew you had more time on your hands than I do right now.

I'm more concerned with what Adobe will do to Dreamweaver.
All things concidered though, I'm looking foward to this takover. Should make things interesting.

They should ditch GoLive and release Adobe Dreamweaver CS.

What do you get when you cross the resource hogging of PDF files with the obnoxiousness of retarded Flash animations that are way too common on the web (e.g. Badger Badger, Good Times)?
I don't know, but we're all about to find out. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I'm not worried. I code things by hand (although I have applied for jobs that use Dreamweaver... I figure it wouldn't take me long to learn it). "Adobe Flash" has a weird ring to it.
I don't know of the buyout is good or bad. At another forum a few people think it's bad. I dunno what to think.
I love Photoshop though, I'm learning Illustrator and other stuff in school this summer (2 years graphic design).
Funny enough that Adobe and MacroMedia were never real friends, Adobe sued MM for softwarepatent violation on the tabs in the GUI of MM's products. Now Adode simply bought MM, does this mean the trials are completely over now?
I hope this doesn't end the DreamWeaver series, since I really like them. I code by hand, always did, but DW is very handy for maintaining and developing multiple sites.

Hopefully we will get a well designed and stable development tool for Flash at last.

Yeah, give Illustrator another use.

How exactly? We now have one company with the vast majority of graphics and web design software (unless you feel strongly about FrontPage and Quark). Adobe doesn't need to do anything to keep themselves in their position, now. The most I predict will happen, is that Adobe will take the better of the apps of the two companies, keep those, and throw away the rest.
And, the huge cynic in me says that Dreamweaver will take a lot longer to load now. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

So now all web content is all going to be delivered very slowly through .pdf files and take huge amounts of memory to view?

Yes. With Flash embedded into the documents.
I can't wait for the free T-shirts. Microsoft gives them out, Adobe should too!
(Seriously...I blame Flash for the future downfall of the Web.)

As a printer, I don't see how anyone could feel strongly to Quark. It's really not that great of an application. The worst aspect of it is trying to move pages. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mryuck.gif I think the only notable thing (though rather small) about Quark is that you can define print resolutions for composites, as well as separations. But I'll be the first to say it's better than having to image things from MS Word. :b
Your post is chock full of points, though.

Certainly not these days. Proves my point even further.
