I'm just interested, that's all. I'm thinking of firing up build for one last time images/icons/smile.gif

Currently I'm working on an episode (which is quite quickly turning into a TC) called Operation: MoonRaid!!.
I'm probably gonna get it done, but I probably won't release it.
Anyway, I still have to build 9 and a half levels so I'm still building.

I'm still mapping.
Alejandro is still mapping.
Bob Averill is still mapping.
Pascal Rouaud is still mapping.
Fill it up yourself images/icons/smile.gif ...
Anyway B.t Clegg, please just release it man. Doing work for nothing is not a right thing, why did I make you the new Pipebomb art then, for not releasing it? ? images/icons/smile.gif nah

I am still mapping, soon i'll release the ADG episode (with adg01-05) and then i'll make some more user maps.
But I don't know when i'll quit building, but after that i'll continue making levels for unreal, halflife, dnf, etc...
Bye

I already knew that but I think we can better wait for a decent and populair game to come out since games such as Unreal and half-life are also (getting) old and when we finally know (this is for the people who haven't worked much with the map programs for these games yet images/icons/smile.gif ) how it works.. no one plays it anymore.. or only a few 100 people. I'll just wait.. or just quit all this gaming crap and start on my own engine or huge website or webdesign company.. who cares.. you'll see images/icons/smile.gif
alejandro

Yes, but i said Unreal and Half-Life as examples of two games that are out now.

I could do that, Kef, but the C-9 will still act as an exploding device, as will everything else that uses RADIUSEXPLOSION. Aww, this sucks.
Ah, phooeew. I'll have to edit my Shocker Rifle, as it replaces the Freeze frames for the bad guys.
I'll have to make another action for that.
Crap, I'm giving away all my secrets! images/icons/wink.gif

I'm working on two full episodes for my mod, and the ending levels for the other two episodes. The mod will have 44 levels, and that doesn't include the other work that has to be done.
Art, major con work, more builders, and other stuff. At the rate we're goin', it'll take a year before the v.12 release, which will only have one completed episode, a few crappy looking enemies, and crappy animation to go with the enemies. images/icons/shocked.gif And we haven't even made a website.

Excellent! Great to see people mapping after all these years. Shame the mod I was working on (Duke Arena) was abandoned.

I tried to think of a way you can fix that, and I thought at first it could be fixed using "ifspawnedby HEAVYHBOMB", but for some reason I went blank after that. So if this post was completely useless then I apologize.

I tried that.
I used the same command to make the Explosion blue.

Kef, I suppose you're right. Maybe I should release it. What gave me the motivation to make this little project was my friend, Josh. I always promised him that I would make something for him to play, and all my other projects failed because I didn't really feel like it was going to a good cause.
Now, about that Pipebomb. There's a bug in there that I couldn't fix. I edited the RADIUSEXPLOSION
for the Pipebomb on most of the enemies. I made it so that they would freeze when they were hit, not explode. Little did I know that this also effected the Tripbomb. Thanks, MBlackwell. So I said, that's no big deal. Then I found out it also effects C-9, and I decided it would be easier to just let the project go.
I have, though, made my Shocker Rifle. I have to take art from other games just to get new weapons. What fun is it to have "new" guns if you probably already know what they look like and what they do.
That's what I'm stuck at. I didn't really plan on new guns and I don't remember how I got that going.
Heh, I did do this project I'm really proud of. Since this episode is for v1.3D, (Josh has v1.3d. I may make another version for Atomic) I thought it was lame to just have the Cycloid Leader as the boss. So, I replaced the art with the Queen, and I made her faster, thanks to many people on this board, and invisible. images/icons/grin.gif
Anyway, I'll just get this done and I'll go from there.
Thanks to everyone who helped me so far.

Oh man, it's actually cool when enemies freeze from all that shit images/icons/smile.gif you could change C-9 in a bottle with a very called liquid or whatever. You shouldn't scrap it because of such a small thing...

Roger, what's that Tc about then?
Is there some page of it online with screenies or sumtin' ?
Anyway, I think I've worked on the most mods, I must be crazy images/icons/smile.gif
P.s, it's also too bad that Xorcist Tc and Future Strike Tc died, both of them were looking damn good and I've put much work in them..

It's not a TC, it's a mod. I'm not saying that it's small, it's pretty largescale. A TC is a total conversion, thus it changes *everything*.
I do have a website, but I can't make it available. I think I've posted this about three times. I could send you the html doc's, but I have to tabelize some of the information, as some of it's out of alignment.
The mod's name is mentioned in my sig, and the plans for what I want to do is too large to put here. Just put it this way: lots of new enemies, 44 levels, weapon upgrades (something that proabably hasn't been added to other mods or TC's), and you should expect it to be very difficult. The episodes have nothing to do with each other; they're just four good ideas for episodes. I'll also add some new projectiles that only enemies can use. For example, flash grenades and wide-range bombs.

Ok, I'll see what comes out of it images/icons/grin.gif

If you're not busy with any more mods, I have to ask you a question: Are you a good artist?
Kef Nukem
12-01-2001, 02:50 PM
I'm still busy on a mod/ mods.. and umm yeah I'm a fine artist.
I think I'm not really able to help maybe later. Ok?

Some guy (I think his name was Gerald) said he'd help me with the art, then I was finally able (after about a week of trying) to contact him and tell him what art to make. The next day, I check my mail and he says he's workin' for another mod. He ended up not posting on the boards ever again.

Mapping.. ..I have two projects that are slowly being worked on.. ..when you are mapping for the sake of mapping rather than the email blowjobs you can get from people who download you maps, you tend to have more creative freedom, which I'm appreciating more.
However, more interestingly I've been working on some texture work for a texture portfolio. To put these textures in a real game context I've done straight replacment of duke3d textures, so I have a more photo realistic cool looking game.

I Haven't done anything with Build in a LONG time but I may just sit down and boot it up. There is a project or two I never did finish that I would like to see done someday. I always did like using BUILD, I dunno why, just something about it I liked...
If you're a programmer you could download the source code for the Build engine from Ken Silverman's website (http://www.advsys.net/ken/default.htm).

I've been working on levels for 1 ~ 2 years, and i'm proud to say i suck.Heh, You can download some of my maps from MSDN, i'm Yoshi.I've sent my latest map to MSDN, (I sent Kef mine before, but i wanna see what Mikko gives it) i hope it gets more than an 85 or into hot maps.(It'll be a cold day in hell when i get into Hot Maps) I'm working on another map,it's single player, and it'll be cool.Well, anyway i will keep making maps for Duke, SW and whatnot, because the new Level editing progs suck. The only good one was Q.E.D for Quake. (BTW Kef, i think the textures i used were fine for Condemed, there aren't many rock textures that are good in Duke. And you obvoiusly have't played Duke Match with a friend in it. But no harsh feelings k?) graemlins/dopefish.gif

I still make levels for Duke Nukem 3D, and have been doing so for about two years now. The only problem is, I'm starting to run out of ideas, and I haven't even put one of my maps on-line yet.
I'm also having a go at making levels for Quake and if I can be bothered Doom II as well.

You can read reviews of my latest map Bobsp3 in the places linked to below:
http://www.planetduke.com/kef/bobsp3.shtml
http://www.serpico.com.ar/duke3d/bobsp3.htm
http://www.planetduke.com/msdn/hotbobsp3.shtml
Are there any other map review sites out there that are still active? Not that I know of.

I am for Collision Course, and the whopping one hour I get to spend on it each month is spent more on new art & weapons than actual level building at the moment.
