From what I have gathered from posts in the Other Apogee/3D Realms Games forum another Shadow Warrior game being made is extremely unlikely. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
But, that does not mean we may not see good ol' Lo Wang again.

I am hoping that Lo Wang will make a cameo appearance in Prey. Maybe even the player being able to take control of him a while, with just the katana sword or something. At least it'll give us SW fans a chance to slice 'n' dice for a while in a modern game environment, and seeing Lo in 3D! Ideally we would want John Galt's voice of Lo Wang back with his one-liners such as 'Who wants some Wang?' and 'Oh look, you coming apart'.

What do you think guys? It wouldn't create too much extra work for Human Head and 3D Realms would it? And since there is no chance of a SW sequel I think it would do well to 'soothe' us SW fans' dissapointment.

I think Prey is going to be a serious game so I doubt they'll be any cameos like that...but Dopefish must make an appearance.

I doubt that we'll see a Lo Wang cameo though. I remember George saying somewhere that Lo Wang probably won't even have a cameo in DNF.

Lo Wang appearances are obligatory...
While I would rather see a SW game, a cameo would suffice. OR MAYBE THAT IS WHAT REMEDY AND TAKE2 ARE DOING!

tis what i heard about the actual "characterization" of him.

i didn't find it offensive whatsoever though i'm not asian either.

Not me! http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Maybe I'm not as mature as you but I thought Lo Wang was a very entertaining character in a very entertaining game. I also believe Stephen Cole of 3D Realms loved working on Shadow Warrior and would jump at the opportunity of making a sequel.

No we're not. You don't see us making sequels with old game characters like Mylo Steamwitz, or Harrison Stryker, or Snake Logan. It really is a simple thing. Not every game gets a sequel! Just because we don't make a sequel to something doesn't mean it's a failure, or some big conspiracy.

If we were trying to "forget" Shadow Warrior, why on earth would we have just released the source code?

You never know. 3DR may have claimed there wasn't going to be a Prey even up to a week before we'd finally find out Human Head had been working on it for over a year (probably sine 2002). Even if they wouldn't make such claim, they'd never confirm anything. Point is, that I'm making a general statement about game companies and their plans--there's always some chance, though it may be a shabby chance, that a Shadow Warrior sequel of some kind would find its way on the shelves. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If 3DR were to wait until DNF and Prey were out, and they had some major pocket cash and take a vacation, then all of a sudden afew years down the road theres an amazing looking FPS with ninja tactics, and it really feels like one, and it'd be the SW sequel. That'd be my prediction.
