We all know that DN3D borrowed/bought a lot of ideas from a bunch of movies, but do you think that DNF will too? Will DNF borrow stuff from old classics like DN3D or from newer movies? If so, which ones?

The crashed module from Planet of the apes in a lake. Duke could even find an Ape in a space suit in it! ;-)

Tyrel Corporation building from BladeRunner in a background somewhere.

King Kong just visible climbing a building in the distance. (Like in Sky Captain)

Duke finds a room with bodies hung upside down, and a few Predator references, then quotes. "Huh, those guys must be back in town, with a few days to kill!"

Duke finds a can of Cadre Cola from Running Man, drinks it, and then says: "Ahh, that hit the spot!"

The President's escape pod from Escape from New york, crashed at the bottom of a building somewhere. Duke says: "Guess we'll need a new president!"

Duke finds Robby the Robot from the Forbidden Planet. There's all the fun Robby lines that can be used!

Finds a Communication Device from This Island Earth, with a flickering picture of Exeter on it! Who knows, maybe Duke could use it to get in touch with someone!

Duke hear's a strange whining noise, then rounds a corner to just see a man in Victorian costume dissapearing on a strange spinning device...

To expand it a bit: you come across a boss, a pod lands, a Predator-like alien comes out, and goes up against the boss monster, saying it its crappy translator voice: "I've come for the greatest warrior, he shall be my greatest prey!"

Then have a 3-way battle between the boss, the predator and Duke!

I think there should be a homage to comedians that have passed away recently like Johnny Carson, Alan King, and Rodney Dangerfield. I'm pretty sure all three have performed Vegas and since the game will take place in Vegas and in casinos it would be cool to have some sort of homage. I don't know...I have no ideas.

I like that idea... Johnny Carson and Dangerfield especially... I don't know a person who hasn't laughed at either, Dangerfield fits because he performed Las Vegas alot, and Carson's tie to Las Vegas is his old pals Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra (hey the Rat Pack there's an idea, old Ocean's 11 not this new one).

Just remembered! I loved it when you discover the Monolith from 2001 in the original D3D. Here's a part where they could use an inventory type system to have an easter egg. On earth you could maybe kill a civilian/alien kills him, and he drops a cell phone. You could pick up that cell phone and leave it in your inventory for no reason. When next to ET on the table, you could select the cell phone and press the use key and Duke would mock him, "Phone Home! ET phone home! Dead little terestrial(sp?)." Duke would just put the phone back in the inventory.

It could be, the only way you could access this little saying, would be by having the cellphone. That way, it'd make you want to run through the game trying to 'use' different items at different locations for easter egg quips and what-not.

I also must urge the includement of a Dope Fish. Perhaps in the form of turning sharks into dopefish as was origionally planned in DUKE3D.

Another idea ist to have the Moniter from Halo flying around, saying basic things as he did in Halo. Perhaps Duke could shoot it and say "shutup", as I'm sure many of us have wanted to do the same.

I just wanted to suggest the same thing. Cheech must be in front advertising it.
And you can stab an alien in its hand (or whatever they have) so he's stuck to the table. So an other alien starts to laugh and you ask him "You think this is funny?" and shoot him.

When I saw cloverfield (http://imdb.com/title/tt1060277/) I had to think about the queen in DN3D.

I'd like to see a boss monster like godzilla or cloverfield that is rampaging in the city. It would be so awesome if that monster would actually destroy the buildings.
Maybe this could be done if the way how a building collapses is predefined.
else it would be too much for the physics engine.
Even DN3D hat a collapsing building in the redlight district.

or since the game is in nevada it could be a monster like in the movie evolution (http://imdb.com/title/tt0251075/) that is found in the desert. I think it was a giant ameba. that would still be cool. it could be so that when you blow it to pieces those would become smaller versions of the monster. then you'd have to kill those until they are small enough to be squished (like shrinked monsters).

Now that would be epic.
