Hmm just wondering if anyone likes this movie?
I thought it kicked ass, it was great to see some of the video game characters come to life. The funny catch phrases were used pretty well throughout the movie also. ("Flawless victory") The plot was maybe terrible but I think it holds up quite well against some hollywood movies coming out nowadays. I saw it again last month and thought it was sort of like a shitty version of Enter the Dragon. Which is not a bad thing. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The theme techno song was great, and it was just a real fun movie, and didn't deserve to be put in the same category as flops like Street Fighter and Mario Brothers. The martial arts choreagraphy was pretty standard stuff, but it had a similar look to the actual video game. The best fight scenes would have to be Scorpion vs. Johnny Cage and Liu Kang v Reptile.
Christopher Lambert (lord raiden, the best character ) and Cary-Kiroyuki Tigawa (Shang Tsung) are accomplished actors, and the Liu Kang guy was credible too, which helped balance out the cheesiness of other characters.
