This is too weird! Sometimes, when I use Build alot, Build sometimes get frozen when you press TAB on a wall in 3d mode to select it. Then I mostly just reboot and it works again. But this time, it keeps on getting stucked and I can't build anymore (well I can't be it s*cks when you can't use it, I use it all the time..). Is there a bug fix for this or do you guys have an explenation or tips?

Have you run out of sectors? (sorry if that's a bit obvious, but I had to include it)
Has your map become corrupted? I.E. Does Build work with other map?
Have you tried deleting Build from your system and reloading it from scratch? (remembering to save your maps of course). I have had to do this in the past.
On the bug fix front there aren't any patches for Build. I don't know if EDuke is less buggy. I'm sure other know more than me, but I thought I would take a crack at it images/icons/grin.gif

I also have this bug (i think it's due to the f*cking windows). I must reboot if i want to build, or else build crashes every 10 seconds.

Build probably isn't able to secure the memory it wants from windows to perform the task. You could try fiddling with the PIF properties and make sure you shut other programs down.

Speaking of that, actually ever since I upgraded to 294MB of RAM I haven't had really any Build trouble, at least in recent memory.

SO have I... Windows is pissing me off more and more.. too bad Duke doesn't work on Windows 3.1 images/icons/tongue.gif or does it? images/icons/smile.gif
Anyway, I've fixed it, thanks anyway.
And no, I've not run out of sectors or something...

Lot of things...
A: Glad so many people are still building for this games! I was told I should move on (ha!)
B: I think I tried to run Duke himself under windows once but as expected that crashed big time. I do all my work in olde fashioned DOS622.
C: Anybody ever do a new weapon without replacing the already existing?
D: I know the agreement says not to add any executables. How far can we go to modify the game and not get in trouble? images/icons/rolleyes.gif

A: This game will live on!
B: Duke 3D was made fer DOS, so errors should be expected when ya run it in Windows.
C: I don't think it's possible to add a new weapon without replacing another. That's where ya have to edit DUKE3D.exe itself.
D: Ask for permission before you do something to the .exe file and releasing it to the public. The only editing that you don't have to ask permission for is .con editin'.
[Speaking of the editing the .exe file, I have to ask if I can release to the public the EDuke.exe file with the two hidden cheats enabled. I've seen them in Visual as <RESERVED>, and I've unlocked the two once.]

Thanx, Roger.
Should I have started a new topic? images/icons/confused.gif Anyway, I wanted to add the gun without loosing any of their originals but unless someone has any ideas about assigning a key a function...
I have to say that I've played many of you guy's games and I am very impressed (jealous???) of your abilities and will continue to examine them in Build to get new techniques. I would like to keep in touch with you're collective genious. images/icons/cool.gif
