Any idea why? At one point I had to reinstall Far Cry, so I tried to uninstall it, and it got along in the progress just a bit and my CPU usage was at 100, and it never made progress. I know the game uses 4 gigs, could this be a culprit? I would've had to wait at least 10, 20 minutes just to uninstall it.

I also tried uninstalling a game about 940 MB, and the same problem.

I did a search for Spyware, nothing found. I do have a Microsoft utility that removes stubborn programs, but I shouldn't have this problem anyway.

A really badly written uninstaller might use 100% of your resources, but since this is Far Cry, I doubt their uninstaller is the culprit. Do you have an anti-virus program running? Do you have any security-type program that monitors files on your computer?

Try sorting the tasks in the Task Manager by CPU time. You might see the culprit program that way, too.

Or maybe you have a software HD controller, and because you're moving so many files around when uninstalling it uses 100% CPU. You know actually whenever any program runs, at least on single core CPUs, it uses 100% CPU, but only for a short period of time. So when you see 50% CPU usage, it really means it uses 100% CPU, 50% of the time. Ok, I know this is pointless trivia.

America's Army 2.0 used God knows how many resources to install......

I also have a problem with far cry, I am already months waiting to uninstall it...
it always says: finding game components to uninstall (no I didn't move the install folder)
I need disk space for all those games that come out summer and end of year.

I'll try nutwrench' idea of disabling virusscanner
