I noticed once that there are two secret cheats called <RESERVED>. I unlocked them once and tested them. They worked. Is it possible for me to unlock these codes to the public without having 3D Realms chase me?

(I promise these will be the only changes!)

What did they do? Would we even want them?

Tip

You could always just e-mail the new cheats to me and 3dr wouldn't know it. images/icons/tongue.gif

One is if yer lazy, you can see the movie fer the end of the current episode. The other is pretty much useless. It takes you to the level ending stat screen and restarts the current level, NOT skipping to the next one.

Well, Joe? Can I?

It would depend on how you unlocked them... If it was a con edit, you'd be safe releasing it. If you modified the executable, you could probably explain how to do it, but you couldn't release the modified executable.

OK, the first thing you need to know is what GameShark codes look like. If you don't know what they look like, go to cheat websites and look up GameShark codes for a game ( http://www.cheatcc.com/frames.html ). If you have access to C++ Visual Studio 6, open up the executable so that you see GameShark-type codes. Search for (let's say "blood") and you will see the list of cheats. There will be two <RESERVED> codes in this area. Highlight them on the right column (sort of a translation of the code) and change them to what ever you want, without the prefix. For example, for the code to be "msendepisode", just put in its place "endepisode". (I don't remember which code is which, though.)

Not a possiblity.

These codes simply appear to be more development tools which have been deactivated by removing valid ASCII key codes in the hex. I fail to see why anyone could care less about whether they can use these or not.
