Recently whenever I try to play a game it crashes to the desktop in a few minutes. The first time this happened was a week ago but I was too busy to bother with it. I had some free time today to play games so I tried to play Doom III, Call of Duty, HL2, and CS:S but they after a little bit of gameplay the crashed to the desktop. No error messages, no nothing. The only side effect was that the brightness on the desktop was higher everytime it crashed.
System specs:
Athlon XP 3200+
Shuttle AN35 Ultra (latest Nforce drivers)
1 GB Mushkin PC 3200 RAM
Radeon 9700 Pro (Catalyst 5.4. I even downgraded to Omega 5.2 and still messed up)
It doesn't freeze or do anything weird in the desktop. I'm going to play some Civilization III right now and see if it crashes during that. I have a hunch that it's either some RAM on my video card got screwed or the video card is overheating. I wish I had money to upgrade... http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Thanks in advance
