I've read some reviews that the DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR or the DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-D doesen't have enough room for two LeadTek 6800 Ultras in SLI mode http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The heatsink on the LeadTek card is too bulky or something. Do any of you guys have experience with this and do you guys think this is true?

If it's true, use a different brand 6800.

But LeadTek is the best http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Why the Ultras, go for the GTs...

Wouldn't altogether surprise me. I recently changed board and gfx card etc. to discover that the Serial ATA ports were obscured by the bloody fan on my BFG6800 Ultra, so ended up having to get a pci card to plug a hard drive into. If I'd been using the 'old' ATI 9800XT, I would have been ok - just.
Strikes me that somewhere along the lines component manufacturers generally need to start focusing a bit more on physical design, alongside the technical.
/me is still irritated by this http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Not really. The heatsink on the BFG 6800GT is a pitiful piece of crap.

I have heard this is true due to the DFI Lanparty board only having 1 slot between the two PCI-E x16 slots, where as most other boards have 2.

And as has already been mentioned, GTs are usually the way to go since most of them overclock to better than Ultra speeds.

What I can say about this is that the space required to put a BFG 6800 Ultra into a mobo is vergeing on the ridiculous. 2 slots worth of space is definitely required, and the fan and caseing still 'sticks out' a hell of a lot. As I've said before in this thread, not being able to fit 2 such cards into your case/mobo, wouldn't come as a great surprise because of it.
I'm still irritated by this. Simply because the 6800 Ultra is the best about shouldn't mean that other design concerns are left by the wayside. Nvidia need to start thinking more about the sizes that their cards are attaining.

Where are you guys getting all this cash to buy two 6800s? Are you dealing crack or something on the side?

Dude... You are *so* right. I've often times wondered about that myself.
