so what mp3 software do you guys use? personally i've switched from winamp to XMplay, solely because of how fast it loads up. for some reason winamp takes 5 or 6 seconds to fully load with the media library open and it frustrates me. however, i still use winamp for internet radio.
anyone know of any fast mp3 players which have a media library (and playlist)?

Winamp loads in around a second here.. uninstall the plugins you aren't using and it'll speed up.

Winamp here for MP3's and streaming radio.
And I use either WMP or MPC for video formats
Here's a little Tweaking guide to help improve the startup speed of Winamp:

I mostly use my iPod for music now...but I used to use XMMS but then it started messing up songs partway through for some reason, then Totem, which plays stuff correctly but likes to crash a lot. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
Thank god for the iPod...
I use Windows Media Player for the computer and soon I'll be using my 20GB iPod.
Until my birthday I'll be listening my songs in my Sony diskman. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

wow what a difference using the classic skin makes http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/redface.gif it now loads in under a second, but when i use modern skin it takes 5 seconds. why the hell would it take that much longer?? well anyway, i got a skin that looks just like the modern skin but works with the classic skin, so now i feel at home again http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif and winamp loads fast again, weeee

I use Winamp on the PC. I also have a 5 Gig Zen Micro and an older, 128 Meg MP3 player that doubles as a flash drive.

For MP3's, I use MusicMatch Jukebox. Most people seem to hate this player, but it feels odd not using it, as I've been using it since around version 2 or 3. I've been using Winamp for streaming audio. My portable MP3 player is a Zen NX 30GB.

Using Apollo. And about to switch to foobar2000...
Winamp 5.08.
I'm looking for a 2.73 so I can play it and my games won't lag.

Winamp 5 (paid for, too).
I also have iTunes and MusicMatch Jukebox here, but the majority of my stuff is Winamp 5.
MMJB I paid for several YEARS ago, so I continue to get the free upgrades.
My actual mp3 player hardware is a Rio s10. It's their lowest end player, I got a good deal on it at Sam's Club about a year ago when I bought it. I upgraded it with a 1Gb SD card, and it serves me quite well.

Winamp. Simple, I'm used to it, and it's fast. No fancy skins or plugins.
I also have an iRiver with 256mb and a Clarion MP3 CD-player in my car.

I use XMMS (http://www.xmms.org/) in Linux. For on the go, I use an iPod with an iTrip radio transmitter so I can listen through my car stereo during my daily commute.

fb2k (http://www.foobar2000.org) with Otachan (http://www3.cypress.ne.jp/otachan/)'s asio output plugin (dll version).
DSD Jukebox (http://www.dsd-jukebox.de/) is a good Jukebox programme for parties when you don't want all sorts of peeps messing with your files/computer. It is not a standalone player and hooks it self into winamp (and other players I presume?) to actually play the files. There is an English page with minimal info on it but you would be better off translating the German pages using Google.
I get the feeling that DSD used Google for their own translation!
The Jukebox is a program, which changes a "normal" Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP computer to an adequate Jukebox, which provides independently or interactively on a party for music. Here various MP3 files are used, which the administrator can add when starting (or also automated) Jukebox archives. These files are then indicated in a list, from which the actual user of the party took his favourites into a playlist. The Jukebox is in such a way conceived the fact that she selects also alone songs according to the coincidence principle from the list and thus ensures a continuous music play.

Since my last post, I've switched to the Beep Media Player (http://www.sosdg.org/~larne/w/BMP_Homepage), a more mature fork of the XMMS project.
Also, Firefox users will no doubt want to check out the FoxyTunes (https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=219&application=firefox) extension which gives you player controls at the bottom of your browser window.

I use Winamp 5 Lite install. Loads real fast, plays everything I want. Plus I really like my winamp skin (woodamp).

For Winamp users, there's also a small program called Winamp Desk Band, which puts them on the task bar.

Nice thing about FoxyTunes, it works with a variety of operating systems and music players.
I use XMMS (http://www.xmms.org/) & Beep Media Player (http://www.sosdg.org/~larne/w/BMP_Homepage) for playing MP3's, Wav, OGG and MPC Files.
I use VLC (http://www.videolan.org) for Movie files.
All running in Ubuntu Hoary Hedgehog Linux (http://www.ubuntulinux.org/)

Same. Winamp 5.08c -- probably abit out of date by now.. but no need to upgrade, it's fine as it is.
Use Winamp Classic skin since it loads quicker.
I have Winamp always minimized and FoxyTunes (Firefox plugin) as the GUI.
