Im making a short film as a project, and I have the full finished thing on a mini DV tape. I need to edit it, add sound/music etc and put it onto a DVD....does anyone know how I would do this? Would I need to put it onto a normal CD as an mpeg first and then edit it in some software..then burn in onto a DVD?. I have about 2 weeks to do all this in, and I've never done anything like this before. As I say, my main problem is that I can put it onto a DVD, but then as far as I know once its on DVD you cant edit or take it off, edit it, then put it back onto a workable DVD.
Also, what software would you recommend I use? Any help is appreciated
When I was making DVDs from my PVR, I used Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2. It allows you to select the video you want, make chapters, custom backgrounds, sounds, and much more. Not sure if you can buy it on it's own though. Came with my PVR.

first off you need a firewire input on your computer (most new ones have them as standard) then you plug the camera in and record away (i think windows XP has a program which records for you).
i don't know what software you intend to use, but i'd recommend adobe premiere. you can also capture with that too.
