I actually hope it's canceled. I heard it is nothing like doom. No mars, no marines, no satanic stuff.

... Excellent.
Rant/"off-topic": How could id soft even let this movie happen? Guys, don't watch this movie, not even out of curiosity! We really need to put an end to Uwe Boll's evil schemes.

It's not a Boll movie. Which is probably the only positive thing one could say about this shitbomb.

I never thought I'd say this, but I hope that if it's released, it bombs.

I just plain hope it's not released. This is an insult to people who love the original Doom and Doom 2.

has anybody of you seen the movie? I don't think so. So don't prejudge it.
I'm just waiting to see at least some more screens or a trailer before having prejudices.
(I'm wondering why nearly nobody mocks HHGG.)

A Doom film that does contain demons, satanic stuff, mars, etc is not going to be a good Doom film.
It might be a good film, but not a good Doom film.
Just like Citizen Kane is a great film, but marketed as "Commander Keen: The Motion Picture" will result in an awful Commander Keen movie. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

well considering the script is shit and it's been moved from a prime cinema release slot into one of the worst, where the studios stick their expected shit I'd say it'd be a good bet to say it's not going to be a classic.
note: Nearly nobody mocks the guide because so far it's been seen as a very positive project.

The movie is nothing like doom. How can it be a good Doom movie when the story has nothing to do with doom? I'll tell you... it can't be good http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm going on the assumption that it will be bad, that way when it comes out I wont be dissapointed because I'll be expecting crap, and if it turns out good, its a pleasant surprise.

I just read a preview of the Doom movie in CGW, apparently they shot an action scene entirely in first person http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif
The only movies to ever pull that off were the Evil Dead films, and the ones in Shaun of the Dead (which were really just a homage to Evil Dead and Raimi's direction)

http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Because along with gameplay, good movie quality is not what us gamers really want!
I will be expecting Dwayne Johnson to body slam an alien/baddie and give that annoying ass eyebrow look.
