I've blown two trips to a local place that has a IMax theater, mainly because each time I see a movie there its just a normal movie that was blown up onto a IMax screen. Seems like a waste of the $64,000 they say it costs for an IMax film reel, and the movie doesn't seem like a real IMax quality movie.
I say that since before the movie starts theres always a short demo telling everyone the differences between regular film and IMax, and during that they they display something that looks like some metal beams and a stack of speakers, only its really creepy because the picture was extremely sharp, looked 3D and pretty much real like it just started floating up there.
Then the movie starts and its just blurry shit again, only with the added annoyance of the edges of the screen having that bubble shit happening, and the other annoyance that I'd went just to try to see if it would have a great picture, while the actual movie itself wasn't all that good.
Has anyone been to an IMax movie where the quality of the movie was like the demo beforehand? Or if they didn't play that demo where you are, kind of like I described?
