Star Wars Revelelations fan movie

I haven't seen it yet but I hear its pretty good, better than Episode 2.

I remember the trailer for this one being posted a while back. I didn't realize there was a whole forty minute film. I have mixed feelings about it after watching the whole thing.

The villainess was played by this slightly overweight goth chick with a very strong jaw line. I'm sure she's a nice person, but just as a physical type, she seemed jarringly out of place in the Star Wars universe. The story was not that interesting, and didn't really merit such a long fan film. Saddest of all, to me anyway, is they spent 20 grand on this project, and fan films that had less than ten percent of that kind of money were much more entertaining and memorable.

The computer graphics were about on par for a TV movie, and while I guess that takes a lot of work, it's just not very exciting to me. CG is always boring to me in Hollywood films, so that doesn't really change for fan films.

I think it's great when fan film folks get more ambitious, and want to tell stories, rather than just film random light saber fights, but I think that there's a reason most do not, which is that story is harder than it looks.
