All it really needs is fog and it IS SIlent Hill.
Hell, maybe this could be the best video game-movie ever.

I'm interested, though mostly because of french director Christophe Gans rather than any affection for the Silent Hill series. The man really knows how to make a film look good, though in his previous english language flick (Crying Freeman) it seemed like he had trouble directing actors. Maybe it was just a language thing, but then that wouldn't bode well for this film would it...

The source material is good and can be translated to film well. I'm cautious though.

I liked the action scenes in Crying Freeman, it was mostly when the actors opened their mouths that things went south. And Brotherhood of the Wolf is a kick ass flick. I really am glad that one managed to get theatrical distribution in the U.S. so I was able to see it on the big screen.
I still remember the ticket counter guy telling me in a very nervous voice, "You do know this movie is subtitled right?" giving me the impression other people had stormed out of the theater and yelled at him upon discovering this fact. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I wonder who's directing this film, God forbid it be Boll or Anderson http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Directed by Christopher Gans "who helmed the cult-favorite French horror movie Brotherhood of the Wolf" as read on the gamespot link posted by Gamebrain http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

How can this be good? French people aren't cool (well.. besides Jean Reno). http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Just kidding, I don't really hate French people. The set looks nice, but yeah it needs fog.
