I hate Windows Media Player. I tried FastStone, which is nice, but it doesn't have any brightness/contrast/color controls.

Can anyone recommend a good free player? http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Media Player Classic (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=82303&package_id=84358)

Simple, versatile, and no bloat.

It comes with both the Real and Quicktime alternatives and the k-lite codec pack.

VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) runs fine for me.

VLC and MPC are great, but I always have a copy of BS player laying around for when I want to take screenshots of video files without having to turn off hardware acceleration.

I'm current using Zoom Player, which has onscreen controls that work in either fullscreen or windowed mode. Try it out! It's only around 1.1 megs and it's really nice. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Zoomplayer is my favourite directshow player. I still use Zoomplayer 3.20 standard. If you are knowledgeable about codecs, this player will do it all for you. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
