When did they start working on Prey again? Specifically, when did they start using the Doom 3 engine on it?

Already answered they started again with R&D a "couple of months" before E3 2001 and the got the Doom 3 engine in late 2001.

a lot longer than that...

the original first version of prey was done back by the dips.. the guys who worked on rise of the triad. the earliest work done on prey was in 1995!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but its changed a lot sicne then...... apogeegames.com has a lot of info about the old days of prey......
