Got a new upgrade

1 GB PC-3200 RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro

We did a fresh install of XP, because my old PC would lock up too much due to unknown reasons. Must've been all my "1 time use" programs. I've seen HUGE loading time differences, and damn, HL2 loads so FAST now! There's a small 5-10 FPS boost in HL2, and a ****ing HUGE FPS boost in America's Army! I can't wait to see how blazing fast it'll be with a 6600 GT!

My dad's ordering the 6600 GT from Newegg today. It's coming from my $$ though. After he orders the 6600 GT, I'll be broke. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif (My other $150 I got went into a DS, and $65 went into Asphalt and WarioWare for it. In case if anyone's wondering where I got all this cash from, I had my confirmation (Catholic religious event) about 2 weeks ago. I got $210 from that, and I sold my GBA SP with 2 games for $70.)

I hope I'll be able to get a part-time job over the summer that way I can pre-order BF2 and F.E.A.R.

You should expect the same performance if you replace your R300 by The Geforce 6600 GT ( maybe slightly faster + Support of PS 3.0). So don't expect a Huge increase in performance.

Sounds good. If you've got a set of speakers or even a headset, you might want to also look at a 24-bit sound card. As the ATI card brings out the graphics glory, the Audigy 2 ZS brings out the crystal clear sound. When you get some money. Not right away.
