We haven't had one of these threads in while so I'll start a new one.

So, use this thread if you know a part or plot or anything from some movie and want to know what flick it is.

Anyway, I remember several years ago watching a movie about the vietnam war where the story revolved around two fighters from each side. One american and one vietkong. In the end they are at this field hunting each other down and then from the sky falls leaflets that declare that the war is over. The story of the two men in the jungle is overlapped with story of the two men today, meeting in some vietnam war meeting.

If I remember right it was a pretty good movie and would like to see it again. So what the heck is it called?

Synti, if you liked that story you would probably like the book "First Seal" By Roy Boem the founder of the Navy SEALS. There are several scenes in the book where he had sit down talks with the opposing Vietnamese Commander while they were still at war with each other. Even though they were trying to kill each other they would still sit down and talk like 2 warriors, it was a great book.

What was that movie with aliens coming to a small community on Earth. But these aliens were small robots shaped like flying saucers. And they loved repairing stuff.

There's this one scene where one of these flying saucer aliens repair a broken watch. Oh, and this other scene were one flying saucer gives birth and one of the flying saucer babies dies. A guy ends up taking the dead saucer, fixing it and thus reviving it.

That's about all I can remember from this movie. Saw it over 12 years ago and I remember loving it

Heh, not a problem. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I got one I doubt anyone will know. It was an animated childrens film, set in a magical forest of sorts. I think it starred living humanoid trees and foliage, but it could have been just talking animals. Their forest is being cut down by a squad of sinister anthropomorphic axes and saws and other bladed instruments.

At one point the heroes are imprisoned by a bunch of toadstools and mushrooms, while a mushroom named Michael sings and dances, to torture them I guess.( http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) Finally the leader of the killer axes is given some kind of potion I think, whilst screaming that he "Will not bend!" he transforms from his former evil sharp edged self into a flower creature of some sort.

So yeah, that strike any bells with anyone? There used to be a taped copy of it in my house when I was young, and it's been bothering me that I can't recall the name of it.

Nope. It was older than that, and altogether a less expensive and slick looking cartoon really.

Ah, yup...I think that's it. So it was WWII movie and not a Vietnam movie. My bad. Jungle's a jungle http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Kind of a longshot but I've always wanted to know this. It's a movie I barely remember but it had these two giant robots fighting at the end with humans controlling them. It could have been a futuristic sport type flick. I think one of the robots(the protagonist's?) was red and white in colour.

I first thought it was Ferngully. But there’s a Dr. Seuss book by the name of The Lorax which was made into an animated movie. It's kind of like what you described there.

Nah, it wasn't in the Dr. Seuss style. Thanks for trying though.

Ok, here's one. It's this R-rated horror film I saw when i was 6 or 7....mom got pissed at that. It involved ghosts that took this couple's daughter into another dimension, or something. One scene involved a camera they had set up seeing these ghosts come down a staircase, not in human form, before scattering away really fast...another (gruesome) scene involved them tricking the father into seeing himself in a mirror, ripping off his face in pieces into the bathroom sink.

That'd be Poltergeist. Great movie. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I doubted that could be it...I remember seeing a PG rating for that. But I just looked it up and it appears that the film was actually rated R, but then changed to PG for some reason (I remember it being graphic enough for R). But the trivia section gives it away, mentioning the face-pull-off scene I remember.

I remember some movie of episode where some person was talking to a tree and also when a car is filled with water (with people inside) and the plug at the bottom is frozen (kinda like a bath tub, except it looks like a car).

Defenatly Poltergeist.

I was scared shitless of that film, yet i was also strangely moved by it, Spielberg's style is irresistable to a child.

Another movie i didn't sleep for a few weeks afterwards was some sort of cheese horror flick involving tuning forks and the 4th dimention, does anybody knows something about that ? http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There was this movie where this kid was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, and he responded, "A truck!"
