I'm trying to set up a wireless network for my PSP to connect to. What hardware will I need? I have a DSL internet connection, and I'm running windows XP on a Dell Dimension 8200. Suggestions?

A few minutes after posting I went out and got the right access point/router, and I'm browsing this site on my psp RIGHT NOW! Thanks for the trouble though.

Can you keep me updated in this thread as to how well the psp works out in the realworld for browsing the web not just in your house? I'm interested in getting one but my freind said he was unable to get net access out in puiblic because of the way the hack works.

Well considering it needs an acces point or wireless router of some sort, how would it work outside? You would need wireless access from somewhere.....

I use the PSP browser when my brother's on the PC. It works alright, but is pretty limited and runs slow at times even with powersave off. If you were to get it (and an access point/router) you could play online with most of the games, check sites, post on forums and chat in IRC (AIM and MSN Messenger said to be in the works by the same team behind the IRC). It's pretty cool as a gadget and awesome as a system. Plus, when you see the games at E3, you'll want it much more (go to IGN or watch G4 tonight for the Live feeds, and updates.) So far a Daxter game showing his time spent searching for Jak at the beginnning of Jak II, a new Soccom game, Midnight Club 3, Vietiful Joe, and Monster Hunter have been shown. Also the new GTA game for the PSP has been named, so that's good. In short, you won't regret getting one.

There are a lot of public wifi hotspots around here, I would imagine thats what he's refering to.

Why would you even want to browse the internet on a PSP? I hope you get some horrid virus that destroys it making more a waste of $250 than it was in the first place.
