I want to make a ligth rotate around the room. Kind of like the ligths on a cop car for exaple. Will I have to make each sector like this?
_\|/_
/|\ If you don't understand this then think of it this way. Making small sectors all away around the room giving them a gspeed, sector effector, and a cyle.

When does this stop! God it's all in that faq Jonah did! It's even on the Duke cd. Man.. check your Duke Nukem 3d Cd or go to http://dukertcm.totalconversions.com. Questions are ok but one for every day which can easily be answered with these FAQ's everywhere is kinda overkill to me.

The best way to learn how to do something like that is to find a level that does it and load it into Build so you can take it apart and find out how it works.
For example, if you want to learn how to do a spinning light effect like the one in the arcade room of E1M1, then load that level into Build and examine the SEs closely. You'll probably figure it out with enough effort.

Why do you waste your energy if these questions make you so mad? Simply.......don't reply to them. Nobody wants to hear your whinning. I mean berating a newbie, a lazy one at that, can be fun. After a while it gets old! From here on out I will always put the word newbie in the subject so you will know not to read it. And the faq's are long and I really don't like to read. Connecting to the internet just to find out how to do one thing is a wast of time. I have a 28k modem so my comp d/l's slow so I don't like to download things. Thank you for the url.

^ You don't need to connect to the internet to read the BUILD faq that comes with Duke3d.
. Connecting to the internet just to find out how to do one thing is a wast of time.<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">And yet you came here to ask. This forum IS online, you know.

And I'm not whining.. most "not newbie users" just get sick of all these questions here.

Hey mellevelence...go ahead and ask your questions. You're right...nobody has to answer you.
Don't worry about cyborg. He's got a toffee up his arse and he like to chew it.
My question to you though...Did you have a look at my map?

Aposed to searching for a website, finding the faq, searching through pages to find a topic. I am also working in a windows xp partition. Only have about 177mb left of memory and downloading all the help maps would soak up memory fast. The faq's on the cd only cover broad areas of a subject. Thank you, I now know that there are many faq's on the net and although I do not like to find them and then search through the info I will probably start doing so if I ever get familiar enough with linux. As stupid as it may seem there are reasons that I do what I do. Time management is a big part of my life, I am a nerd, and if I am not careful I could find my self missing school or work trying to find out how to make a pig cop explode by using a switch. I am simply asking for a straight and direct answer for the questions I post, if you do not like the questions I post once agian please don't reply to them. You seem to know how to make people feel like idiots. Pointing out every little detail. images/icons/confused.gif I do things the way I want to, not the way I should do them. So please stop rideculing me and get off my back.

Your sense of economic internet usage is screwed up completely - the total amount of data transfered viewing this forum over your various topics is enough to download several FAQs.
So, stop whining and get a damn FAQ and stop asking every question that's been asked and answered a million times before.

Look.. I gave you a site with all the info you need to edit Duke. FAQs are most of the time only a few 100kb and the maps aren't even a MB so that really isn't the problem. But like I said before.. asking a question is fine.. but not something simple that has already been asked for a million of times and that can be easily found by clicking a few times..
Now stop this whining.

Can we stop ragging on newbies. This IS the right forum to ask. I answer 100 odd newbie questions a day as I work for an ISP. I certainly don't get rude with them.
I only wish I could help mellevelence more, but I haven't dipped into Build for years and I can no longer run it on my PC's.
Simply don't answer his questions if you don't want to. It's that simple.

But I share this computer is 7 other people. Together we can download things that will take up 10mb a day. I got this comp not to long ago, since the parition (which only left me with 200mb on this partition) We download a lot of things and as of now I only have 79mb of memory left. My comp is messing up really bad.

I would bet good money your browser cache is filled up with crap that could come to several megabytes whilst an actual FAQ is going to be around 100k.
It doesn't really matter which way you look at it it's not as economical to ask questions in this forum that already have answers in a FAQ.

Like MegaNerd said, this IS the appropriate place to ask questions about Build. Anyone posting a simple, polite question is entitled to a simple, polite answer. "Read the Faq" is not the answer to every question posted here. If that were the case, there would be no reason for this forum to exist.
Yes, repeatedly answering the same questions can be tedious. Some people haven't the intellectual prowess or emotional development to do so, and should perhaps refrain from trying. Patience and maturity are requirements for anyone who wishes to teach (and to learn) anything useful.
