Hi all, I am new to the 3DR forums, so I am sorry if I am being a little bold by posting a new subject straight off. I was just wondering what people here at the 3DR forums think of when they think of Duke Nukem theme music.

I personally love the works of Lee Jackson and Robert Prince in Duke II and Duke 3D, and aside from 'Grabbag' which is the definitive Duke Nukem theme song, I always wondered what most Duke fans thought of when they think of the Duke Nukem style of music.

I have listened to bands like Megadeth and recently Machinae Supremacy which seem to fit that Duke Nukem style. Listening to Machinae Supremacy's work for the Jets'N'Guns game, I felt that the music was kinda "Duke-ish".

What do guys think of when it comes to the Duke Nukem Style of theme music? http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I don't know what Bobby Prince is doing as of now, but Lee Jackson left 3D Realms.

Megadeth did a version of "Grabbag" for the music to score by album.

if you're basing this off of the work both Lee and Bobby have done for Duke 3D, and Bobby's work on the Doom series, they did alot of research on the music theories of Metallica, Megadeth, and countless other bands. For example the first level of Doom II in episode one sounds like it was influenced by Deep Purple during the Ritchie Blackmore years (my speculation). The first level in Doom episode one sounds like a cranking Metallica/Megadeth hybrid.

If you like classic rock, or heavy metal, you can groovify to the sounds of Duke http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

The reason for the references of Doom is, Bobby Prince did the music for the game. He also worked on Duke 3D, as well as Lee Jackson.

As far as the music in Duke Nukem Forever, we'll hear it...
