Can someone tell me if there is any good TV Tuner programs out there, preferrably free? I'm getting sick of Intervideo's crummy program and would like something else...

That will probably depend a lot on your hardware tbh. Your best bet may be to search the h/ware manufacturers site and see if you can't find an alternative there.

They offer nothing http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif It's an ASUS TV/FM card. The progam just annoys me and has a slow reaction speed....it also randomly doubles up on the sound and other strange issues.

What program do you use avatar_58??? I use TwinHan DTV, which isn't the best, but is OK for the average guy who knows very little about Open Source and stuff like that.
Try VisionDTV, if you want. What is the name of that InterVideo program you use... Just to see if it's any good.

Its called Intervideo HomeTheater....its not as bad as it seems, but I hate the little random issues it has. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mryuck.gif
It looks kind of like a bad version of Windows Media Center

Yeah, I had InterVideo once, man, was that ever crummy! It didn't even like the old TV Tuner that I had in there, which was an ATI TV Wonder Pro. Right now, tho, I switched tuners and switched my media center software, so I'm happy after the fact.
As far as free TV Software, I believe there was MythTV, and that was great. As far as others, I saw one called TVMonkeys, and that sounded funny, but it wasn't available for downloading. I also see a program called LifeView FlyVideo, I'm not too sure about that, this one's a little pushy, it may be good, I looked at the website, the software's looks awesome, but the way he explains it, I better hope it's freeware. These sound good, however, I believe that MythTV sounds to be the best choice for right now.
I'll have to try that one out TerminX. My current program crashes about 20 minutes through the show (WinTV 2000, which came with my Hauppage PVR-250). Must be a software/driver issue, because my system is plenty fast for a multi-media center PC. Maybe it doesn't like recording to RAID arrays. Last time I had it installed, it recorded to my backup drive, which was non-RAID.

Hmm, tempting to use that since my tuner is kinda sucking at the moment, but the whole warning about permanently trashing the EEPROM on the card is worrisome.
