Anyone here know of a good (free) text to speech program that doesn’t sound so robotic. I tried “read please” but there is a text limit and the one that comes with windows stops after 10 min.
I sometimes like to copy and paste an e-book in to note pad, put on some head phones and relax.
edit
oops can you move this to the software forum thanks...

Acrobat Reader 7 does text to speech. It's robotic, but it's free, and fairly capable of pronouncing difficult words from what I've seen. OpenOffice can save as pdf, and there are many (smaller) freeware progs that do as well.

Thanks for your help guys, everything works great but now I am looking for free realistic voices to download.
It seems that AT&T Natural Voices Text-to-Speech Engine
http://www.naturalvoices.att.com/demos/
is the best but its not free...

That program haunted my boss for a long ass time. This was back when spyware/adware was just a fetus.
