6 years ago I started a 2D adventure game that was going to be a sequel to Shogo:MAD. It was actually pretty good but once my hard drive crashed I lost everything.
So today I found my Shogo CD and relized, why don't I try to get a team to make an unofficial sequel. It would be a mod of coarse. I have a pretty good story so why not?

I loved Shogo! Two years ago I still played multiplayer with some people. The hardest and the best deathmatches ever!

Maybe I should re-install Shogo and join a match. I was pretty good that times.
However, I never modded for Shogo unfortunately. I'm so used to UnrealEd and Unreal Engine that I would have to learn how to build a simple level in Lithtech's engine.

We wouldn't be using the LithTec engine. Probably the source engine.
You need modellers, coders, artists, etc.

I wouldn't do that. You could get foxed by Monolith, because they own the rights for the Shogo title.
Ofcourse you could ask Monolith for permission, but I doubt that it'll work.

I just had a flash of an idea! What about if you make Shogo 2 on F.E.A.R.'s engine?! F.E.A.R. is a Monolith game after all and they will probably be more willing to allow you using the Shogo title. I e-mailed Monolith todays asking for permision if they won't let us use source the F.E.A.R engine would be a nice choice!

This sounds a hell of a lot like when i was 15-16 with my buddies sitting around going "hey, let's make a game" then you realise how monolithic (get it... hahaha) of a task it is. Programmers, texture artists, moddellers, animators, concept art designers, project manager. It's really a rather lot for a small group of people to do who don't know each other.
Good luck but you do realise it's a gigantic task right?
